      Re: Allience EXP

Maze and Korroloka are so much better than Valkurm Dunes it's laughable. I've taken all my 15+ jobs to both zones to avoid Valkurm, and it works fine as long as you bring at least one other person (to improve kill speed and as a safety net).

        Re: Allience EXP

I understand the whole exp is lowered in an alliance, but when I went to do the promies, the entire LS turned out and had a 2 party alliance and kinda had a field day killing stuff on the way up, the first few kills were low exp as expected, but on the third floor or so, the exp chains seemed to be almost normal for IT mobs, it was awhile ago so I may not be remembing correctly, but are the Promy zones different somehow? Or do exp chains just work differently somehow? Like, do they add a certain amount of exp to everyone, or does it just multiply the total exp by a set amount?

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

          Re: Allience EXP

XP chains add a multiplier to the points you would have normally gained.

For an alliance of 7+ players, the amount of XP per kill is calculated thus:

          - Take the amount of XP gained if the kill were made solo by the highest level player in the alliance.
          - Multiply by 1.85
          - Divide by the total number of players
          - Penalize any players who are below the highest level based on how far below the highest they are (this effect is very strong at low levels, and gets weaker as you gain levels, to the point where it's barely noticeable above level 70 and only marginally so above level 65).
          - I seem to remember that level 75 players who are currently level capped but have merit point mode turned on also earn some bonus points at this part of the calculation - can someone confirm?

Generally speaking, unless you've got merits turned on, and are on a natural level 75 job, you won't be earning much XP from chains in any level capped zone.

            Re: Allience EXP

At Lv.19 WHMs can easily step up to Qufim. No doubt a few pts there will be in dire need of Healing Magic.

Years ago in the Maze, an idiot had the bright idea to form an Alliance @ Lv.15, an fight Crawlers. "More people, more EXP." Nevermind those Crawlers are roughly Lv.30. I tried to warn them! I disbanded and watched about 15 people die in very short order to the 1st Crawler they saw. /sigh

oh if only that were true I was a lvl 20 WHM yesterday and I spent my first 3 hours looking for a PT. Then, the only one I could find had a 3 lvl gap, I was the lowest at 20, then a guy at 21, then everyone else at 23.
We got OK xp for a while, then most of the PT lvled to 24 and it started getting crappy. I barely made it to 21 before we disbanded

Problem is that there just aren't as many people in that level range any more. I almost long for the days of crowded Qufim.

                  I know what you mean.

The only thing i hate about Parties is the wait. A few times I just gave up waiting for invite and invited people my self.

But if no one is even in the area that makes it kind of hard.

Oh yea ^^ Waiting for PT is the most unproductive thing you can do with your time. I always, always, form a PT if I see good amount of jobs searching for group. Sadly, it's not always possible tho.

I've been stuck at 65 Ranger for almost a month now. Everytime I seek, I see something like this
Rng Thf Smn Smn Drg Drg Drk Drk Rng Smn

Now if a Brd and tank pop, I tell you I'll grab em right away >.>

but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

really, that exact thing happened yesrerday. Not one person difference.
