    Re: FFXI XP Chains

Actually, nothing "breaks" an XP chain.

The only requirement for XP chains is that you defeat a monster at Even Match or better within the allotted time - if you kill 100 Too Weak level 1 Tiny Mandragora in between kills, you'll still get the XP chain as long as you come in within the time limit on the second EM+ (to you) kill, and that you make at least 1 XP from the kill.

If they're in the ToAU areas, i would have to make an educated guess that they are the chigoes. friggin chigoes...

I was eaten alive as 31WHM trying to get PUP unlocked when my S/I dropped at a very bad time.

      friggin chigoes.

Hehe, chain #52 is cool. I saw a pic before were the party got to chain #106, guy said the party had to remain constantly on the move. Forgot which area they did it in, couldn't imagine reaching a chain that high parties I've ever been it are amazed when they reach chain #6 most they've seen before was #4.

Seems kind of sad that 1 RNG could boost their chains 2 more then they've ever seen

Some of my LS members confirmed XP chain #344 the other day in Bhauflau Thickets, before it became a meriting hotspot. Their chain stopped only because one person got KO'd by a Radiant Breath.

I've seen screenshots in the 400's. It seems like if nobody is around, the only thing stopping chains from being able to keep going is people needing a break or an accident.

Sea Puks, various Mamool Ja, and some sort of wyvern that I can't recall the name of offhand.

Before they made the limit of how many elemental pets Aerns could summon in sea someone had made a video of themselves hitting chain #550 something.

I don't feel like such a hotshot anymore hitting chain 4 as a solo BST.

But i'm assuming those triple digit chains are party setups too.

Technically, you just need to beat anything EM and above within a set amount of time. The higher level the chain the lower the time you have. The higher level you are, the longer the allowed time. So far there is own 2 things I have known to break a chain: #1 you get disconnected or zone, #2 the time runs out.

You can kill a DC with out breaking a chain when you are killing them fast enough. So if you kill EM > DC > EM, the DC will not count into the chain, the time it takes from killing the 1st EM to the 2nd EM is all that matters.

Your EXP is independent with your PT/Alliance. Meaning everyone has their own set of chains. You can get exp chain even if others don't (b/c of their level) or you have be at a different chain than your PT.
