  • XP location V2

I have been rewriting the guide. I put it into HTML format and broke it up by level range.

    Now version 2.1

    http://www.kharvey.com/ffxi/xp/

There are some things I have not heard much about:
    1. exact mobs that manaburn target in {sea} for XP.
    2. exact Pso'Xja camps
    3. exact ToAU camps and mobs. only a partial, incomplete list out now.

    Other changes

Changed level range of PT in Carpenters Landing (from Sandy) from 11-17 to 11-15. Pugils much weaker than thought, and all the mobs are T by the time everyone hits 16. Camp location is on the docks.

Also still working on parts of the guide as I speak.

Ha, I'm dumb. Just found it. >.>

Edit again: NIN tank isn't necessary for Onzozo at 45-49. I'm currently tanking things there on my PLD and doing awesome. Just need a WHM that pays attention.

Uh..Anyway, Nice guide. I'm gonna save this and show it to my static leader.

We were getting 6K an hour with a PLD tank. I see nothing wrong with PLD either. LOL

Also, late 20s, Davoi is just awesome. Even farming has died down on my server, so you can get a party there without worries. Tip: taking down an EP or DC orc will not break exp chain as long as you can kill it fast and then kill the next T+ orc to continue the exp chain. This applies to any other zone for that matter.

Eh, forgot to add that obviously, some exp areas are better than others. Might want to check out an area with friends or LS members on higher level jobs before commiting yourself. Be sure to note down all special moves that a monster may perform as well as taking into consideration special needs (Does this place require special passes that a lowbie may not have yet obtained?)

The places where access is restricted are best left to static parties and parties consisting of veteran players.

Ah, very handy. *bookmark* Camp locations and level ranges are one thing I've persistently failed to learn over the years.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the Manticores @ Cape Terrigan 70-73. My static's been leveling off them since 66 and with all of us @ 70 now, every Manticore near Cloister of Gales entrance is VT. Maybe 1-2 IT's out of the dozen or so Manticores total.

I'm hoping Dragon's Aery isn't the same level range as Manticores cuz that's what we were intending to level off next. =P

It is. =/ Bark Tarantula's Exp totally dies after 71. Chaining flies is suicidal unless you carby pull (Mega-Linkage anyone?) and also if you have timers for all 6 spider pops. Reason being is that spiders can't be slept indefinitely, since after the first time, their resistance goes through the roof. Also, you can zone, but with new patch, you'll lose exp mobs faster than water through a seive.

About 67-70 is good in DA. After that, you'll have to hit Moon or Sky or some other place for 70+

Man, I was hoping to avoid competing for weapons in Sky. Wanted to try something more original. Anyone have suggestion for 70-72 or so for a static NIN/MNK/THF/SAM/BRD/(Empty spot for healer)? I was hoping Demons in Ulu would be shortly after we made Spiders in DA go stale but maybe we should just go now.

kinda off topic but if youre interested in pet soloing theres a great guide on alla:

                        http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.h...73224305;num=5

i soloed from 2k xp into lvl 63 to 64 as blm from the pets in bibiki. other jobs can solo pets too. i havent tried this with anything but blm but ive seen blu doin it and im pretty sure rdm can.

the beauty of pets is that they have extreemly low hp for theyre level so anyjob that can crack out bulk damage should be able to solo them. i was getting 260-300 xp solo and the fights were short. pretty amazing.

one of my blm friends soloed 59-62 in newton movalpolos. i guess is possible for a blm to solo all the way to 75 in not much more time it takes in a party, esspecially if you get a lot of crappy parties.

I don't know what info this guide had. But I've been perusing Campsitarus as of late.

I went to the root page for the broken link, and it mentioned that the author is working on some wiki projects. So the guide may be located somewhere in wiki.

Edit: Here's a link to Ayrlie's Experience Points Guide at wiki.

I like the FFXI-Atlas' version of Campsitaru even better.
                              Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
                              yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water.
