  • Can a THF be in BCNM?

We were talking about this sometime on the LS and someone said that they need consistant Damage Dealers (MNK,WAR,DRK,ect...) and THF is a one hit thing. So, I was wondering, can THF be in BCNM?

(I hate leveling anything but THF, so leveling MNK D; )

Rawl, I hit that thing for consistant 150+ and the WAR did the same. a MNK beats the shit out of the little dude too. THF have nothing to offer but Treasure Hunter, the damage is one blast, and you are done...boss fights need consistant damage dealing over a long period of time, something THF can't offer
Most memorable WoW vent convos on Burning Legion:

    "Dude...I just wrote a sonnet, about taking a dump." - Kronos (2006)

"Guys, I just set my oven on fire by trying to cook ramen in it, and broke the fire alarm with a frying pan. I think I'm in trouble." - Brawny (2006)

"But Hisdon, why wouldn't you want The Unblockable Shield - wait a minute..." - Sasukekun (2005)

I guess I'll level MNK when I hit 30 then (I need to starting getting 2 level groups again  )

A Thief certainly can offer great amounts of consistent damage.

        Why?

Their daggers are fast. They build TP fast. And their Weapon Skills stack well with their special abilities to do insane amounts of damage. Their damage output for the next 60 seconds is mediocre, but they can typically build up 200%+ TP for the next big shot, unlike Warriors, Dark Knights, and even Monks. A lot of Thieves forget they can often Sneak/Trick Attack more than once in a fight, especially if they timed their initial SA/TA properly.

It gets even more effective with a sub like Ninja (for Dual Wield bonus), or Samurai (for TP boost).

Even considering, though, some of the BCNM40s would be heck for a THF.

The thing about THF is that they are nuking powers and their damage is timed on intervals, which is good for fighting harder monsters that last longer. However, when fighting easier monsters, like T and VT, consistent damage dealers are much better as they would be fully effective on every fight, whereas for some battles THF wouldn't have sneak/trick ready yet. In BC, most of the monsters are, in terms of stats, around same level to T, so consistent damage dealers would be able to run through them really fast, whereas a THF would be constrained to 1 a minute.

Also, treasure hunter doesn't effect BC drops.

thf is one of my preferred fighter jobs for bc40 (and I have done a lot of them). Assuming you have people that are good at getting as many renkei as possible thf do great. Thf also help by getting hate off the white mandoragas faster and with +dex equipment I've seen them do a lot of damage in bcnm40. I've seen 800+ damage vipers (with renkei damage) which just annihilate whites at 1 per minute.
Still trying to play way too much...
