  • Statis parties?

basically means that it's the same, uber pt that meets everyday and gets insane exp, and you lvl really fast, usually look like this

    BRD/WHMorRDM
    WHM/BLM
    RDM or BLM
    PLD/WAR
    SAM/WAR or MNK/WAR or THF/WARor/NIN
    DRK/WAR or DRG/WAR

I can personally say, I hate these parties because several of my friends have leveled at an extremely fast rate, while I've been stuck seeking for hours, lvlin once a day if I'm lucky when they are 30-40 in a week. I don't feel connected to them anymore...

On the other hand, I feel I need one to catch up to them...one of my friends tells me, as a damage dealer I'll get invited to one eventually, but this doesn't even make me look forward to stuff, because of my play time...I get off at 10 PM or 10:30 PM EST, while the rest of my party probably won't get off till 12 PST...which means I'm with them for one day, then the next they are 2-3 levels ahead of me...plus I loggin for dinner, I really feel like I have nothing to play for...in my LS I'm at a level alone, no one else is in the low 30's, they are either in the 20's (mid and low) or in the upper 30's, low-mid 40's, and one guy is over 50...

I have no friends my level, they are also in the catagory above, so I feel complelety alone in this game, because...no one is around with me...in beta we all leveled at the same pace, but in retail, these statis parties...have really ruined the experience of playing...I feel behind and left out of a lot of things that go on

sorry if this isn't in the right fourm, but is this the way this the way things are on other servers? Does anyone feel the same way?

Well, as it so happens I'm in one of those "statis" parties myself I can understand your frustration, I've experienced it too and it's one of the reasons I formed a set party. I'm also a drk, which inevitably means waiting a long time for parties, and I didn't really want to go through that. It's really not as great as you make it sound though...true we get really good xp when we're leveling, but you'd be suprised how hard it is to work around everyone's schedules. We have to get really good xp because some days we can only party for a few hours. And there are times when you really want to go out and level, but can't becuase one of your members isn't on. In short, it has numerous advantages, but there are drawbacks as well. You have to decide which method of leveling is more appealing to you.

And if you ever feel alone, just stop by these forums and chat with some fellow drks

      RNG/WAR -or- MNK/WAR
      THF/NIN
      PLD/WAR -or- NIN/WAR -or- WAR/SAM
      BRD/WHM
      RDM/BLM -or- BLM/WHM

This is an universal problem for MMORPGs that emphasize grouping, because you can't guarantee the availability of groups for everyone at all times. Pardon the analogy but it's kinda like you paying the mortgate for your house but can only live in it whenever it rains or something. A game's not supposed to be a chore, yet for all this type of online games paying hardly guarantees even remotely that you'll be having a good time. Many other factors have to come together. IMO they need improved party-matching methods. For example some kind of official webpage where you can sign up ahead of time for parties. Make a profile containing your preferred hours and jobs etc. and let the software match you up with appropriate players. This'll be very nice for missions/quests that require a lot of manpower.

Oh you're talking about Static parties. Personally I'm not a big fan cause I wanna meet people no matter how horrible they might be.

At lower levels I can understand static PT's coming about. But lately I've seen no difference. About 4 people I know are all in static PT's and I'm still a higher level than them, and I'm advanced class. Now being advanced class doesn't say much, but it does show that I was still willing and able to find or form a PT on my own at those lower levels.

I still don't understand where people get this notion of "insane exp" when it's just like any other party I've joined, get the same exp and level in the same place.

                I'm clueless I think.

My 2 cents is that I think it's not as condusive to leveling at higher levels because there isn't really any trouble finding or forming a party to begin with.

P.S. Dear god you Monks DO own D:

I have to disagree with you valmaton.

I got into a party with some static people leveling theirt subs and they told me about their little group. They say that they level about 3 times a week and yet they are 53 (I believe them too, I went to Wind to Farm/raise WAR sub past 9 =P, and some of them were there running around). Statci PT > normal pts, it's a guarentee that you will get good exp. In a normal pt you can end up with some WAR that doesn't want to voke (happens so much, it's sad) or something.

I like Awntawns combo, hot damn, that's be sexy.

I'd LOVE to join one of these...I'm on Titan, if anyone is interested.

Currently Lv35 DRG. If people are serious about doing this, I'd be willing to let others catch up (within reason).
