  • Questions on some in-game manners...

First off I'd like to know exactly what people mean by, "Their Area/Zone ". Like one time i was pulling monsters for my party in valkrum and i come along an area filled with snippers. As i moved into the area i notice a party sitting there talking amongst themselves, (I'm guessing) because they weren't attacking the snippers in their "camp". So i went over to the area and provoked a snipper. But... as i run off towards my party i get "tells" and "shouts" saying "Stay out of OUR area you thief!!"...

...Umm can someone tell me whether there is an actual rule set up such as this one?

Another issue that i have confronted during party hunts is camps...

I was wondering if it would be considered impolite to set up a camp area practically infront/ behind / beside another party that has set up an area to camp because i have had many experiences (actually just 3 or 4) where other parties would stand beside us and set up camps...

The reason why I find this irritating is that when two diff. parties are fighting at the same time right beside one another it gets a little hard to keep up with the amount of information that scrolls down the message board during battles.

If you could give me a little insight on these issues it would be greatly appreciated thanks!

No, that group was just being jerks. If they wanted the snippers they could have pulled them themselves.

If they don't have the name in purple, it isn't their monster. And getting that upset about a common monster like a snipper is just lame. It's not a NM that only appears once a day or something.

Although, I do admit to being annoyed when I was in a group trying to get bloody robes and some high level player starts soloing bogys (I assume for the luminicloth)... there are so many things that drop luminicloth, that aren't needed for one of the two quests that EVERYONE has to do!

You think that's bad, I was in a party once that was resting after a particularly tough battle, and some other group pulled an area attacking monster next to where we're resting.

It killed one of our resting characters.

So the moral of the story is, don't fight near other parties if you can avoid it (many if not most monsters have at least some area attacks).

Of course their are some areas where there are a few places that are particularly good to camp because there are fewer aggressive monsters there, or they are near an area border in case you need to run. But if some other group gets it first, let them have it and hunt somewhere else. It's just common sense (and courtesy).
