  • Nexus Cape Question

It may have been asked before... and if it has, I cant seem to find it and I'm sorry.

Do you NEED to purchase the FFXI Ultimate Collection in order to get the Nexus Cape, or can am I elligable to collect it if I simply (like most other people) purchased the expansions as they came out?

So far I only have ACP and MKD... I have yet to buy and start ASA. Before I do that, I want to know if I'm wasting my money. It costs $9.99 for ASA.... and $14.99 for the Ultimate Collection. If I simply buy and install ASA, I don't want to do so in vein and miss out on getting the Nexus Cape. Everything I've read says that it's available to people who have purchased all the expansions, but those same places all link me to the FFXI Ultimate Collection home-page. It makes it seem as though have to buy the Ulimate Collection or GTFO.

So my question I guess is, if I buy ASA, will I be able to get my Nexus... and if so... how? Does it just pop into my inbox, or do I have to punch in some kind of code somewhere to get it?

    Thanks guys!

    Re: Nexus Cape Question

If I recall ... you only need to have all the minispansions purchased (individually thru POL or thru that collection) and you attain said cape from a chest in the Tenshodo hangout in Jeuno... but the cape is kinda a waste, imHo.

Every time I've seen someone mention they wanted to use it, they can't cuz the leader is in a area the cape won't take you to... I have yet to use mine once.

      Re: Nexus Cape Question

i purchased all seperately (when they came out) and still got the cape.

yesterday was the first time i used it...and it was just to get from the top of Bat. Downs to the bottom. I've probably missed numerous opportunities to use it though only becuase i forget that i have it.

Thanks! So all I have to do is finally purchase the ASA expansion and then open the chest in Tenshodo in Jeuno?

Order the one-time password thingy, register it, get mog satchel = EPIC WIN. it automatically opens up as an option under your MH. It's the best in game item that has ever been introduced, hands down...

                Re: Nexus Cape Question

You can't activate the one-time password key until you actually receive it, and (I think) you have to keep using it. It's an extra second or two to your normal login, but completely worth the 2x inventory. The sad part is, that's another 80 slot I have filled now...

And if you do a lot in the 'old world' that the cape applies to, the cape is quite useful, or even to get around to cities you can't normally get to easily (I'm looking at you, Bastok). But, most things are done in Aht Urhgan or WotG zones, so keeps cape uses to the minimum unfortunately.

                  Re: Nexus Cape Question

ZOMG!!! Nobody told me the satchel was x2 inventory. I don't remember hearing anywhere about exactly how much extra space it gives you. I was under the impression that it was like... +10. I dont care if the Token costs me real money... or even if it works. I'll gladly pay for +80 inventory. I'm a SMN and a COR... I have a shit-ton of staffs, cards, bullets, ninja tools and AF that I'm steadily running out of room to hold.

Though I don’t agree with the fee…I do really enjoy the extra space. saves a lot of time.

I can change jobs and gear up while getting to my destination oppose to muling or swapping in my MH.

                            Re: Nexus Cape Question

I thought it was $10 but not sure. It doubles the inventory you currently have... so if you have 40 inventory your Mog Satchel will be 40 ... if inventory's 70 (like mine) your Mog Satchel will be 70... the amount of time it adds to log in is inconsequencial to the time you'll save by having the extra space.

Mog Satchel is epic win, imHo. Nay-sayers are simply wrong.

Token is $10 if I remember right. x2 inventory is indeed wonderful, just remember the slight catch - everything you plan on macroing or /using has to be in inventory, not satchel. Still, you can just put all drops, seals, and other items you don't plan on using at the time in the satchel, as well as stuff that helps you move around (dungeon keys, etc) so you never have to go to your Mog House to pick them up.
