"The Pickpocket" Dropped Quest Item Gilt Glasses

I posted this on Alla with little luck there so hopefully I may have better results here...

Okay, long ago I deleted my character. When doing so I tossed out almost all non-tradable items including the Gilt Glasses from the San d'Orian quest called "The Pickpocket". Well I later got my character back via the reactivation service so I'm wondering... Is there a way to get the glasses back? Recovery must be programmed into the quest as Esca when you talk to her w/o the glasses says:

"What? You lost the glasses?! I may be a thief, but I'm not the lost and found! Go find them on your own!"

I've tried searching around for info on this without luck. Thanks in advance.

I've talked to nearly every NPC I could find in San d'Oria, nothing's changed other than the quest giver asking for the glasses still says the thief has them. I've checked the ??? spots around Ronfaure without results as well. After talking with a GM they suggested it is possible to complete but they can't help me and say to ask around. While I don't care about the reward I just want the blasted thing out of my log and over with.

Are you sure you tried talking to Miene or Altiret again?

Are you sure you tried talking to Miene or Altiret again?

Tried that. Miene says nothing related to the quest anymore and Altiret tells me Esca stole his glasses and to retrieve them. Of all NPCs only Altiret and Esca say anything about the glasses. Everyone else goes on about their duties.
