I just got lucky that someone was shouting for it in WG when I wasn't busy. I had the quest ready three or four weeks ago, but I wasn't in any hurry, since I'm only BLM41 right now. (I'm waiting to get the final cut scene when I ding 56).

Our party of four also got helped by people skilling up nearby. And Wiki says BST is supposed to be able to solo it by throwing pets at it, so you could go there and shout.

If you find a couple others to go, and I'm on as WHM and not busy helping someone else, throw me a tell and I'll help.

I tried duo-ing it to no avail, and was raised by a 75BST who was soloing there. And then he volunteered to solo the NM for me, and it was flawless. So you might try finding a 75BST.

All of these are viable options, but if you're lazy like me... just walk to the ??? spot in the Tree and sit on it. That area is infamous for skillup parties and there's usually 1 or 2 of them hovering pretty close to the spot at all times. All I did was this:

Get to the ??? spot
/shout AGAS <Fight> <Please Assist> <Sleepga II> <Notorious Monster>
... and I waited.

Within a few minutes I got a /tell from a party leader in the area saying he didn't mind helping out and re-located his group to my position. I joined them and we waited for the pop time.

I might have just been a lucky, lazy-ass but it worked for me. If you can't find help... it's worth a shot.

This can practically be soloed by a SAM/NIN 2 houring and going with 5 WS's / self skillchaining. I went with 3 other people, after my 5 WS's / skillchains the mob had like 5-10% HP left. I killed it with my 6th WS.
