  • Nyzul Isle Advice

I recently began a Nyzul static with my new endgame shell...and so far we are just having a terrible time at it. We can't seem to clear 5 floors for our lives. Twice we've ran up 4 floors in less than 15 minutes, once we ran into sequence lamps that we couldn't figure out, and once we ran into a Dahak that just absolutely smoked us. Other times we got 2 floors in a row where 1 was 5 Soulflayers and the next was 5 Chariots, both of which are just freaking mean.

Just wondering if any of you have progressed far on these, and if this is supposed to be this hard, or if we're just having really, really bad luck? Any advice for beating the hard mobs would be nice too, I couldn't do crap to the Soulflayers, couldn't Sleep, Silence, or Dispel.

Dude tell me about it.. we had those soulflayers last night too and they were an absolute disaster. I did manage to sleep our links easily using lullaby + Apollo's Staff.

We managed to get to the fifth floor on our last tag of the night, but we only had a minute left at that point so we exited and took our tokens as a consolation prize. We got a lamp floor and thankfully it was a one-lamp dogpile.

Yeah I was debating going BRD for our future runs, my only drawback is if we hit another Dahak RDM would definitely be better than BRD. Were you able to Lullaby the Soulflayers as well?

Yeah they were very easy to lullaby.. and it lasted a while, longer than Lullaby usually does. I don't know if it's because they're hardcore weak to light or just the gearswap to Apollo's Staff.

We didn't run into any dahaks last night on any of our runs, and I didn't get any last weekend either, so I couldn't give you any info on 'em.

BTW.. I have to say it.. BG Wiki's Nyzul page is really well written.

          Re: Nyzul Isle Advice

Sadly, Nyzul Isle is pretty much all about luck.
You can storm through 5 floors within 15 minutes one day, then only clear 3 in 30 minutes the next. Dahaks, Chariots, frogs, 'lamps by order' and the infamous 'clear all - huge map' are really what makes a run turn bad.

But don't despair, you will eventually get enough lucky runs to get your hands on some mini-HNM action. Now, good luck killing them when you zone on the HNM floor with only 6 minutes to go

As for bard, they have a lot of trouble sleeping gears. RDM might provide more versatility, but once again, its all about luck.
You should really try to have a BLM with you, they can speed things up a lot on some floors.

          Good luck out there !

My LS has 2 Statics goin and the first time my static went we cleared them all^^ 5-10 10-15 then 15-20 and got lucky getting adamantoise :D we killed it with 7min on that floor and our PLD 1min into fight hit Flys instead of Fanatics :x but we killed it and got Askar Feet^^ Gratz Proph^^ but What we learned is to enhance ur chances at leas 4/6 - 6/6 has to be on teamspeak or Ventrilo cause Communication is KEY to nyzul isle

QFMFT! This thing is more random than any other event I've seen.

We got some really GARBAGE runs there last week - two runs in a row where the first floor was "Clear all enemies" and we had to fight NM psycheflayers and frogs and dahaks and puddings.. then we got lamps in order on the second floor. Then on the third run I gimped and went to 6th Floor instead of save & exit. OOPS!

This past weekend, everything seemed to go right and we got to Floor 15 in three runs. Lots of kill the leader floors, lamp floors were all-touch-one or all-at-once. I'm kinda psyched now to do a boss floor! I just wish the NMs dropped some of their normal stuff though (wouldn't mind having Dalmatica even if I think it's a piece of junk next to Cleric's Briault).

We got pretty lucky this weekend too, got to 15. Our last run we had 10 minutes left entering floor 15...and got sequence lamps. We cleared with about 45 seconds left.
