  • How Do You Get To Whitegate In An Instant?

    Quick question.

A friend ingame told me that you can pay an npc in South Sandy (300 gil I think they told me) to warp you to Whitegate. The npc to start the quest is the one just at the fountain on the way to the mog house, but unfortunately since logging out over half an hour ago, I have forgotten the name of the npc.

Was having a check through the quest list on the alla site, http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?fqarea=14
(well I haven't actually read through any quests, just looked down the rewards and npc list which give you them) and I can't really see anything which gives you a reward for Whitegate.

I'm really sorry to ask you guys, but could someone help me find this quest please? I already completed the quest to get Aht Urghan access ages ago, (so obviously Im able to go there now) so if I can get this npc warp quest done, then Ill be able to use it to get there easier.

My ingame friend wants to help me do a mission for Aht Urghan, so it would be helpful to know.

That's completely perfect! Thanks for that "Taskmage"
If I'd noted the name of the npc before I logged out, I would have been able to find the quest for myself. I'm sorry about that. But you've hepled me to find it, so I appreciate your help. It's a bit like that quest I did ages ago for Windy. You go round speaking to all the npcs to show off a badge. I think it was a fame related quest quest though.

Snowball, please use the default text. That has to be hell on people using the Dark skin.

The text is orange on the Dark skin.

Edit: The text in quote shows as gray.

Re: How Do You Get To Whitegate In An Instant?

Ive just checked over use of the dark skin, myself too, and to my knowledge there is no sign of a problem from what I can see! I use the light skin (version 5) instead of dark, since dark is not really my idea of fun.

In the dark version, I don't see anything wrong with reading people's posts I have quoted either. (for e.g. "task mages" one for the purpose of this thread) I can read everything absolutely fine to be honest. Guess I wont be giving up the bold for a while.

By the way..... "IfritnoItazura"..... you missed the "S" off the front of "he!" (shame on you! ) Could you please refer to me as "SHE" instead, since I am ''FEMALE'' after all! Unless for some reason you may have been in a rush, and didn't have time to make any corrections. But that's okay. Maybe try and remember next time though.

P.S. - I wish I knew how to attach thumbnails like that. /sigh!

The bold is still obnoxious to read, though. I don't understand why you insist on it.

It seems to be automatic, when I attach pictures:

In a way its the same quest. There's 4 version of it, 1 in Windurst, 1 in Bastok, 1 in San d'Oria and 1 in Jeuno. I recommend completing all 4 before going to Salaheem's Sentinals in Whitegate for your reward. The more you've completed the better the reward. The details for completing each one are on the link Taskmage gave.

                      Thanks for that.

I guess it would be the same type of quest, but when I did the one for Windy months ago, I think I remember there being more npcs to go round than this new one.

Hmm.... I'm actually a bit confused over this quest now I think.
I went round all the npc's in Sandy yesterday to talk to them, (ones for the points noted on the badge) and even noted down the names from the link which "Taskmage" posted for me so I would know who to speak to in particular.
But for some odd reason, I wasn't getting that short message from any of them.
(where they're supposed to say something a bit like --your sentinal badge flashes brightly--)

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I assume that this is the one for Sandy, and not Whitgate, since you are talking to Sandy npc's. Maybe I have already done it, but I'm not too sure. Well, I'm quite sure that I only got the badge for Sandy yesterday, but one of the areas you go to is Chateau D' Oraguille, and I'm not sure I remember speaking to npcs in there for this quest.

Is Chateau D' Oraguille the area you do a map quest for in Selbina, where you have to hop on the boat when its misty and you get pirates boarding? You have to kill the pirates until you get a ruby (or whatever it is) drop, then you hand into an npc in Mhaura. (I have the quest bookmarked somewhere, so its ok. I will probably find it easily)

I wouldn't usually venture into a place unless I had a map really.
So I'm all confused now as to whether I have actually already completed this one for Sandy or not!

I don't think I have done the one in Jeuno though. So I will get them all done anyway.

The Chateau D'Oraguille is where the King of Sandoria lives. It's a perfectly safe zone in the middle of Sandoria. There is access to the Bostaunieux Obliette, which is dangerous, but you shouldn't have any reason to go there right now.

                          Thanks for the help.
I think Bostaunieux Oubliette is the one I was getting Chateau D'Oraguille mixed up with, for that map quest.
I know that now. Quest for that is called : The sand Charm
                          Starts in Mhaura.

Something else I'm a little stuck on here. It's only just entered my mind though, so I'm sorry to ask again.

To get access to Whiteagte via the npc (by paying the 300gil) in sandy, will this only work if you have been round all the npc's in all the cities (so that's Sandy, Bastok, Windy and Jeuno) mentioned on the badges, or is it required that you go round them all in Sandy only, to get Whitegate access?

Edit : Damnit! I wanted to post that 2nd part as a separate reply, but for some strange and silly reason, it won't let me!

You're not getting the message because you already did the quest.

And no, you do not need to do the quest in all the cities to use only one. You do the quest in each city to use the warp NPC in each city.
