  • Promyvion updates.

    Has anyone tried the Promys since the update or are planing to soon? If so how much has changed in them? I remember doing it way back when cop first came out and they were a pain in the butt, and now i need to do them again so i can get my Soboro by 50.

    I'm actually in the process of setting up all 3 for people on Hades. I've been doing Promy since CoP was released. I still have my SS's of the first alliance on Hades running though Promy and getting killed. hah.

      Yeah i remember my ls lucked out and beat mea our first try. But then tried dem and got our faces handed to use on a silver plater. Please post your results from them when you finish them id love to see if i can beat them as SAM instead of lvling RNG to 30.

        Based on the update notes, you can expect the following:
        - Easier time farming the animas, since the recollections are no longer Rare (so you can now farm for multiples) and no longer Ex (so you can now trade the extras you have to members who need them). Though hystero-, psycho- and terroanima are still Rare (so you can only hold one at a time), you can now trade/send them to members who need them.
        - Easier time traveling to the Spire. The levels of monsters along the path, and their placement has been adjusted.
        - Same difficulty with the boss fight once you reach the Spire. No mention is made of adjustments to the NM.

            I just did Holla on my alt after update and can say this: Anima being bought for 2K off AH meant everyone had them.

            Way up to spire was NOT much easier, just less situations of a IT++++ thinker in your path.

            Boss was easier with 6 people with full anima (though otherwise was NOT easier, managed to kill tank within seconds). never even did shadow spread, got 1500 exp for win.

              Bosses of the 4 promyvions are and always have been easy. If you have a party in which everyone has an anima, the boss won't even be able to move at all during the whole battle. It's nothing else but stupidity if you go to a boss without them, especially in Vahzl.

              By the way, you played World of Warcraft didn't you? (Not related to your post here)

                  no, never played WOW (parents would slaughter me if I got another MMO). And when i did them before I had whole party with anima (helped alot of people with mission and enm) the boss was the same difficulty only time saved on anima collection.

                  Weaker and and dem boss can be asses with drain at low health (220 drain is massive at that level), anima always helps.

                  PS: SA + screwdriver makes wreaker go owwiee, also head butt helps a ton

                      While I'd agree with Vahzl to a point, my LS made a habit of beating Dem/Mea/Holla bosses with no anima.

                      They're certainly nice, but not a necessity.

                        My CoP group did Vahzl the Saturday before the update, and then the Saturday right after as well. We had an odd setup, just what we have to work with at 50, PLD RDM WHM BLM BLM and me(43 COR the first time, 50 COR the week after). The first run we took down the 3 mini bosses fine, got the last of the 3 spire bosses down to 10%, but couldn't finish it off b/c it started spamming drain TP moves, and I was gimped 7 levels and out of sushi, I couldn't land a shot for my life on it.

                        The week after we did it again, another full run b/c the RDM was different. The changes post-update as far as mob placement were extremely noticeable. It is now much, much easier to get around without aggro. The first run the place was teeming with mobs, several times we'd have to sit and wait a few minutes for a couple to turn away so that we could run past. The second time around, navigating through the actual floors was child's play. The actual mobs, mini-bosses, and spire bosses were unchanged in terms of difficulty.

                        Side note: 1.5k xp for beating Vahzl boss.

                          My ls just did all 3 this week rather easily with all 3 anima with all the melee. I even went as SAM and finished the bosses off with 2hr at like 20% hp. We had a set up of WAR/NIN x2 (x3 in dem) RNG (though i went SAM/RNG on dem because we had no rng) WHM BLM. The only only boss we had a hard time with was holla but only because it took us awhile to beat it no one even came close to dying.

                            I went in a couple of days ago with a pickup group, and I was the only one with anima worth having. They'd heard about how the Promys were made easier ... it wasn't really any help. Funny thing is, we ended up waiting 20 minutes for somebody while they were at the AH or something, then they complain about being rushed so not being able to buy any anima...

                              Did Vazhel again last night. Originally did it 14-15 months back.

                              Didn't really notice much different until we did floors 3, 4 and 5. Mob placement and difficulty didn't really feel different on the first two floors and second floor was still pretty nasty in terms of it being narrow and plenty of mobs to latch on to you.

                              3rd-5th floor mob placement was very sparse and 5th floor actually had VT mobs. Mob placement around the Memory Fluxes in particular was easier to manage, didn't have to clear the area around them so much.

                              BCNM fight was the same as before, didn't feel any more or less difficult.
