  • Bastok Mission 5-1 problem

So Saturday night, my friends help me to do 5-1. I made sure I had all the cutscenes for the mission before the BC fight. I recieved the CS before the BC fight, and one after. Now according to Wiki, I had to go back to Naji to get the second part of the mission, which is 5-2. So, I return to Bastok and talk to him, and all he tells me is about the expedition and that he learned it in grade school and I should go talk to Cid. So I talk to Cid and he also mentions the expedition and that was about it. No, I did not get a CS for talking to either of them.

Confused with it, I checked my key item's list to make sure I had the Burnt Seal and went to get 3 stacks of Earth Crystals to fill my rank bar up and tried talking to the both of them again. But they still said the samething. So I asked one of my friends who had done the mission to talk to Naji and see if he got a CS and he did.

Now, someone in my LS mentioned that maybe my CoP 3-3 mission is overlapping this one but I don't see how that would be possible since they both require different NPC's to talk to. Anyone have any ideas on what I did wrong?

Added: Yes, I talked to the mission givers, they've told me that I can't do more then 1 mission at a time. And yes, I've gotten the CS with Zied at the end of the fight. (Got the CS for before the fight when I zoned into Fei'yin.

When you talked to Naji, he should only "complete" your mission. Maybe try zoning in and out? Sometimes that helps cutscene to activate.

I tried talking to him a few times and all he mentions is the expedition force and talk to Cid. =\

You shouldnt have to talk to Cid after Naji. I just talked to Naji then traded crystals and got the next mission. Also wiki doesnt mention anything about having to talk to Naji for CoP3-3 unless I missed it, it just says you talk to Cid. Sometimes a cutscene wont load either if your using windower, if you are.

I can only suggest calling a GM then. You may get one with no knowledge of the game tho and he wont be able to help you. At least if you dont get it sorted completely they probably can tell you if its because of CoP3-3 or not. Just make the call out as if its a glitche "Cutscene for 5-1 with Naji wont begin" or something

Did you try talking to Iron Eater and the President? It's been years since I did that mission but they could have the CS you are missing.

If your current mission is still 5-1 and you didn't hear the mission completion music then you are still missing one CS.

I talked to Iron Eater and the president.

                  I gotta say tho, the Bastok President is mean. ;-;

He said "Your not done with your mission. So don't talk to me."

And I usually play with my music off since I tend to play at night and don't want to wake anyone up.

                  Edit:
I'll probably try looking for a Goblin Footprint in the area and see if I missed something. If not I'll see if I can get CoP 3-3 done and try talking to Naji again. And if it still doesn't work, I'll call a GM. *remembers GM Dave*

It does seem like there's an NPC you haven't talked to, and I don't think CoP has anything to do with it.

I guess your best bet is to zone out and back in Metalworks and then talk to every NPC you can think of, but the idea of watching the CS again is good, usually they tell you what to do next while you are in a CS.

But if it was only Naji then the mission would've been completed.

Many times I've done a quest or a mission that was supposed to end just talking to one NPC only to find out there was another NPC I also had to talk to, but the info was almost always in the cutscenes and the stuff other NPCs said.

Edit > An example, I recently moved to sandy to get rank 10 there (and then work on Windy after that), while doing 2-3 I picked Bastok first, so the Embassador told me to get the mythril sand, and the Bastokan in charge of the mission mentions a galka who would know about the mine gravel and all that.

I went straight to get the gravel and skipped the talk with the Galka, so when I came back I spent half an hour trying to figure out why the embassador wasn't taking the sand until I talked to the bastokan again and noticed I had skipped the talk (and also noticed I bought pickaxes in vain because the same galka hands you 3 pickaxes to help ya >.<).

It's usually details like that the ones that can mess things up specially if you have a guide because you are more likely to skip some step, at least in my case that is.
