I'm not going to agrue with you, but I will say that I simply do not agree.

I'm not touching the issue anymore after this.

Also, as evidenced by several linkshells using the cutscene trick to hold/fight Absolute Virtue, this trick has not been patched. Unless of course SE decided to fix it in a chapter 2 cop mission and not in an area where teh supposed toughest mob in the game is fought.

This will make the the whm steal hate if they cure bomb you. You want your whm to stay alive and to be able to cure bomb you as you keep the attention of the mammets.
For the kiting strat to work you can't engage, used a yellow liquid on, voke, etc.

I find it highly amusing that my strategy was called out as "cheap" and basically cheating yet a strategy that basically exploits a flaw in the hate system is not.

            I see your point.

But honestly, you think it is the same as using the Cutscene to become immune to all attacks. At least in the kiting one skill is invovled (kiting, keeping kiter alive, etc)

I would respectfully ask our forum members to refrain from further discussing exploits which can detrimentally affect uninformed players.

Yes, you can do all of these things, but they're all exploits of game bugs rather than "features", and can probably get you thrown in the Mordion Gaol or worse if a GM notices (not likely, but stranger things have happened). Abuse of exploits is definitely against the terms of service, and discussion of such violations on this forum is not allowed.

This fight is challenging, but not "that" difficult if you go in prepared. Please restrict the discussion to legitimate ways to pass this mission, as was originally intended.

                Re: CoP2-5/slightly unusual setups

My understanding is the last PT to do the CS trick ended up with a GM booting everyone out of the fight. Same thing happens with AV.

I recently did this fight with:
                Pld/War
                Whm/Blm
                Blm/Whm
                War/Nin
                Rdm/Blmx2

The two Rdms wer our kiters, one geared full def/hp/eva ect and had a pair of powder boots handy, the other all MP+ and cured. They did the 'clean aggro' trick, where on aggroed two of the mammets and ran and the other sat and cured. This works as long as the kiter doesn't use spells before getting aggro apprently. The others all ganged up on the third mammet and took him down as fast as we could.

We ended up doing two runs. First was a 'dry run' in which we didn't use any items/2 hours, just to see how well the strat would work. And even then it was going great until one of the two kited mammets used a Gravi-ga type move catching both Rdm and a small confusion over the use of convert. The second time we went all out things were actually a bit rougher as the first mammet used Transmogrification early slowing the kill team up, but after that things went by real fast and we ended up winning with little trouble.

I actually plan on doing another run with another group of friends with a completely different set up. As of now we can have:

                War/thf/nin
                Drk/nin
                Blu/blm
                Pld
                Drg
                Whm

My current idea is to have the two nins each take one mammet while the Whm heals them both and have the Blu, Pld and Drg take out the third. In *theory* it could work, but something like this depends a lot on player skill. Though there is a 'cookie cutter' set up for this fight, there are still plenty of other ways to win.

Amazes me why you mods don't delete his posts.

Don't exploit missions. There's absolutely no point in doing it, unless you don't give a shit about getting a real challenge and conquering it, which Capitalnihilist doesn't seem to care about.

It has been patched, in the chocobo raising update. Sorry guys..
