The Only the Best quest in Selbina enhances your fame in San d'Oria, Bastok, and Rabao. I used this quest to get my Tuning Forks--it's very efficient. The Mandragora-Mad quest is good for Windurst/Kazham/Mhaura. Turn in Cornettes from Harmodios in Bastok when Bastok is not in 3rd Place.

Dont forget Only the Best also raises jeuno fame. Good for gobbie bag and RSE quests.

however, Only the Best seems to reduce Norg fame from my experiences.

example:
my wife, who is not a bastok national, and has never done this selbina quest was able to activate the utsusemi quest in norg after trading in zinc ores ~20 times. i (also not bastok national, but did the selbina quest many times) have traded ~30 times and still can't activate the quest.

Yea so I've heard. I always found the best way to do it is to turn in 20 stacks of Boyhada Moss to the guy for Only the Best. That will give you lvl 7 sandy, raboa, and bastok fame, as well as about lvl 5 jueno. Then go work on windy and norg. That way when you do Only the Best quest your norg fame is already 0 so it cant go any lower

Rabao fame is also linked to Bastok fame.

My Bastok mule who has never set foot outside Bastok (but took a trip to Rabao just to check her fame) did the Gourmet quest a bajillion times.

Bastok fame: level 8

Rabao fame: level 4+ (don't know exact number)

That's why I cap out my Sandy/Bastok/Rabao fame with Only the Best and then level up my Norg fame. Makes things easier (at least for me).

Speaking of which, I have to level my Norg fame again. Stupid me, ditching Ael for my Taru (who I love so it's worth it).
