Tooteroons treasure hunt question

I forgot I activated this quest a while ago then I got the urge to go harvesting tonight in the Thickets. Low and behold I was promptly owned by Berried chigoe and chigoe's nit that spawned on the first point I harvested from. I was afraid to go see if it would happen again(1000xp doesn't come easy as bst). Does anyone know anything about this quest? Will I get beat down at every harvesting point in wajaom and bhflau until I finally get those chigoes killed. Is it only one certain point and I just got unlucky? I could have sworn I read it only spawned from a harvesting point in the Woodlands.

From what I know, once you trade him the date or pamama, then the next harvesting point you get in the corresponding area, you'll either get an item that's not normally harvested (I got an iron chain), or the chigoes will spawn. For Dates, he'll send you to wajoam woodlands, and for Pamamas he'll send you to thickets. But after that first harvesting point, all others will act normally.
