Re: Switching Nation Missions
list of NPC's;
San d'Oria - North San d'Oria, Beriphaule at (C-9), near the gate to West Ronfaure
Bastok - Metalworks, Mythily at (J-8), inside the President's Office
Windurst - Heaven's Tower, Rakano-Marukano on the 1st flr, also where u see Kupipi for other nation's mission 2-3 "Journey to Windurst"
also, note the following;
1. regardless of ur current rank, u'll start from rank 1 again.
2. ur current rank and conquest points r saved w/ ur current nation, but u can't convert the points to those of ur new nation; u can use them once u switch back.
3. the record of supply quests gets wiped off, thus u'll need to do them again in order to use the outpost teleport service. also, as it's not saved unlike the rank and conquest points, u'll need to do them again should u decide to switch back.
4. u'll need to pay the fee to switch, of which the amount is dependant on the current conquest rank of the country u switch TO, thus ur current nation's rank doesn't matter.
if the conquest rank of the nation u switch to is;
1st - 40,000 gil
2nd - 12,000 gil
3rd - 4,000 gil
there also r minor details affected by the change, such as the changed motion for /salute, but it's not that big of a deal.

Re: Switching Nation Missions
Windurst /salute from a tall Elvaan male, FTW!
When I moved my mule from Sandy to Windy, the new salute took me by surprise!
The Bastok and Sandy salutes look good on all the races, though.They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

Re: Switching Nation Missions
Honestly there are only two reasons to do a world tour of all the cities, as far as allegiance goes:
(1) You want to see all the related storylines.
Having been through all three cities to the end, I can say this is both a time-consuming and dubiously worthwhile project even if you already have a level 70+ job. Without a level 70+ job, it is very very difficult to get to rank 10 in any city.
(2) You want specific items offered exclusively by certain cities to its citizens.
San d'Oria doesn't really offer much in terms of unusual non-tradable citizen-specific gear, but both Bastok and Windurst have several interesting items (Master Caster Bracelets, Patriarch Protector's Arrow, Presidential Hairpin, Republic Gold Medal, among others) that trigger off of conquest conditions that can only be earned as a citizen of those cities while in first place.
Also, you can only purchase an Aketon (those nifty colored suits that increase your walking speed in your hometown if the aketon matches your current allegiance) with conquest points as a rank 10 citizen of a city (though these you can at least buy from other players).
Also, each city offers a Flag to place in your moghouse for achieving rank 10 (it counts as a wall hanging for Layout purposes).

Re: Switching Nation Missions
The flag also can help with conquest points. That is one of the good points of having the flag. Mine hangs proudly in my MH in San'Doria.BLM 75

Re: Switching Nation Missions
I can honestly say I've never had an issue with a lack of conquest points during 3 years of play. Nowadays, it might be more a problem due to people not earning conquest points in ToAU and Lumorian zones, but even that can be sidestepped by avoiding those zones once in a while.
