Re: fame
1.5k is not even cheap. That's like looking for a free fame.
Anyway, the popular one is this quest http://ffxi.somepage.com/questdb/391
corns and cabbage are pretty cheap. You can buy just a few to complete the quest. But if you're looking to boost your fame a lot, you'll need tons of them. I doubt you'll get much with only 1.5k gil. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Re: fame
well... that isn't enough money really. my best advice would be to slaughter rabits. 3 rabbit hides can be traded to a guy near the leather guild for fame. Flint stones - tavern in southern sandy. bat wings - guy near blacksmith guild. and im not sure which others.

Re: fame
I think someone controls Aregoneu on Remora right now... Buy as much millioncorn from the regional vendor as you can. Sell it all on the AH for two or three times what you paid for it. Use that to buy even more. Rinse and repeat until your inventory is full of millioncorn, then go to Selbina and trade it all in to the sheep guy. Slight loss for the quest rewards.
Instead of that first part with buying and selling corn, you could just learn how to make gil.Ellipses on Fenrir

Re: fame
I was under the impression that you could get more fame by doing different quests
than you can by repeating a quest. (Anyone else think/heard this?) Only thing is
that it might be more time consuming to do new quests than to do the repeatable
ones.
So I would do the repeatable quests and throw in some of the non repeatable ones.
Also you could take a level 1 job and kill rabbits, worms, and bats. This would let
you level a job and farm items to increase your fame all at the same time.

Re: fame
Well... that's nice. You don't have enough fame and need more. You get fame by doing quests. There isn't some magical insta-fame fairy that everyone else knows about that will take your 1.5k and turn it into overnight hero fame. You asked for cheap and easy. The Selbina quest is both. Most quests are one or the other. But if the ones people have mentioned aren't good enough, feel free to look some others up.Ellipses on Fenrir

Re: fame
Take all the jobs you haven't leveled past 1 yet and just kill the bunnies in East and West Ronfaure. Those rabbit hides really stack up if you have at least 3 jobs you can take to 10. The bat wings are the easiest to farm in King Ramperre's Tomb. If 20RDM is your highest job available, I suggest sticking to the first set of tunnels where the Mouse Bats aren't that difficult.
It took me only 5 or 6 stacks to get enough fame for the Drain Quest. If you don't have the gil to buy them, farming them is going to be you're only option. But there are many other interesting quests you can do as well. Regine's Flyers (boring but gets you a token amount of gil and is easy), there's a thief in Port Sandy you need to track down, the Gambler quest for the KRT map, etc. Every quest you do will add to your fame and some of them are fun to do.

Re: fame
There is a lady at the tavern in Southern San d'Oria that is looking for flint stones. Buy as many as you can and go wild.
Also, there is an old man in Selbina who is seeking either Boyahda Moss, Millioncorn, or La'Thiene Cabbage for his sheep. I usually buy the moss, because you only have to trade one moss to complete the quest. You have to trade 3-4 corns and cabbages to complete the quest with those, so it takes forever and can be even more expensive depending on how much the stuff is on your server.
And I believe you can buy all three of them at the cultarian's guild in Windurst Waters, so you might just get a good deal on them.
Also, the moss/corn/cabbage quest affects fame in Selbina, Mhaura, San d'Oria, Bastok, and Kahzam, and Jeuno, so I highly suggest doing that quest so you have to do less later. The flint stone quest only affects Sandy though.
Also, 1.5k is utterly useless for gaining fame unless you are using airships. I have busted 50k-100k on raising my fame in those countries, maybe even more. If 1.5k is all you have to give right now then I suggest that you find a way to make gil fast
Good luck~

Re: fame
One other quest you could do once you get an airship pass is the Airship Passenger quests. I believe they add to your fame for the city you're flying from. There is one downside to this quest though, it will reduce Tenshedo Fame so make sure you don't do it after you become a Tenshedo Member. Apparently, Norg doesn't like nice people.

Re: fame
Yes you can solo it to 15, especially if you want extra rabbit skins off the La Theine fuzzy bunnies.
My hubby alternates between using WAR and THF as subs for his MNK main. According to him, those are the best subs available for getting the most out of your monk. However, I am of the mind that if you're soloing, you could sub WHM or RDM for cures to keep you on your feet more. When soloing, it's pretty much up to what you feel like doing.
Edit: Every single quest you do goes towards Fame. I still turn in rabbit hides now and again even though I'm of Hero fame in Sandy.
