They have their own section. Norg is a town. You have to go through Sea Serpent Grotto to get there, but as long as you keep Sneak on, level shouldn't matter. You can get the map to there from ffxi-atlas.com

Where on earth is Sea Serpent Grotto? I don't even know this place either.

Basically just stick to right wall in SSG, while making sure you are keeping sneak up. There's a semi-hidden door on the right, but its pretty obvious its there and all you have to do is click it to open it. If you're having any trouble then just do a shout for a guide in Kazham. There's usually someone around who can give you a quick hand. Choco's are cheap there anyway.

Just posting back to say that I don't need to go to Norg to get that Earth Elemental Scroll now. It was 10k at the Ah in Sandy, so I decided to buy it there instead.

As for the other elemental scrolls, they were at a RIDICULOUSLY high price!
There was one at 50k, (too ruddy expensive indeed!) and even one for 100k and I thought..... NO WAY HOSEE! I'm DEFINITELY NOT spending that much gil just for 1 scroll. I dont even have that much gil, and even if I did, I just wouldn't blow it all
in one go like that.

But when I checked the Ah in Sandy yesterday, they were out of stock apart from the earth one, so it was just as well really.

I guess if I want the other scrolls, then I'll just have to wait until I reach the correct LvL to fight the irelevant mobs (was it around LvL 40? I can't remember) to get them.



Edit : Just out of interest, if I ever had the need to go there in the future, where do I get a map for Norg please?

Just posting back to say that I don't need to go to Norg to get that Earth Elemental Scroll now. It was 10k at the Ah in Sandy, so I decided to buy it there instead.

10k o.O Its about 400 gil at Norg. Most of the Spirit pacts are pretty useless anyway, you won't use them much, if at all. Save yor money for plenty of +MP equipment.

Edit : Okay, there seems to be a quest called "A Test Of True Love" (this is for the SSG map)
It seems I can't do this quest because I don't have fame LvL 6 yet.
So THAT'S CERTAINLY out of the question.

As for the map of Norg, is it saying that I have to do this as a mission?
I don't undersatnd.

The map for Sea Serpent Grotto comes from a chest or coffer. That quest mentioned does not give you the map. If you have that quest, A Test for True Love activated, the chest will give you an item for the quest instead of the map. The same applies for the coffer. If you are on your AF quest, the coffer will give you your AF first.

The map of Norg is obtained once you reach Rank 6 in your home nation and are able to start the Zilart Missions. It's a reward as part of ZM 1.

Elemental Spirits are obtained through the Auction House, some from NPC's or you can go kill some mobs for the drop. This information is indeed on Allakhazam and ffxi.somepage (which you have been linked to in previous posts).

For your Avatars, you must either do the level 20 solo fights as a SMN, or if you have a job high enough (level 65+) then yourself and some friends can go do the prime avatar battles. Once you win, you'll get the ability to call the avatar you just fought. The city fame requirements, the locations for the NPCs that begin the quests, the locations of the protocrystals are all listed on many of the helpful sites out there. The SMN only mini fights are all called "Trial Size Trial by <element>". The prime battles are all "Trial By <element>". (Trial by Fire, Trial by Ice, Trial by Earth)

This isn't meant to confuse you in any way, it's only to explain that there are some things you just won't get as a brand new summoner (or brand new player for that matter), and you'll have to wait and work for them. Like the map of Norg, or the fame needed to open the avatar quests (mini battles or primes).

May I suggest that you stop worrying about where to get all the elemental summons, and just go have fun, level your SMN to 20, and when you're ready, read up on the mini-fights, and go kick booty to get your other avatars. All the elemental summons you'll obtain eventually, if you really want them.

Congratulations on getting Carby, I hope you enjoy the SMN job as much as I do.

Reading comprehension is your friend, Snowball. While we don't mind answering questions, this habit you have of asking questions about things which have already been explained in exquisite detail - multiple times - is getting very irritating.

PLEASE make an effort to comprehend information that has been supplied to you. It is enormously frustrating for everyone to give you answers and have to repeat it three times before you understand. We are not your parents. We are not your teachers.

- The map of Norg is acquired upon entering Norg any time after completing Mission 12 and receiving Rank 6 for any city. It is not quested at all unless you consider actually finding Norg to be a quest.

- The map for Sea Serpent Grotto comes from either the SSG chest or coffer. All quests take priority over maps, so IF you have activated A Test of True Love you will receive the L'Ephemere key item instead of the map. If you do not have that quest active, you'll get the map as usual. You have no jobs at level 50+, so the clause about Artifact Armor quests and the Sea Serpent Grotto Coffer does not apply to you; the Coffer will automatically yield the map unless you happen to have one of the jobs that needs a piece of armor from it.

Thanks a lot for the help. I have tried to understand all your info as best I can.

The Sea Serpent Grotto outside Norg sounds like a high LvL place and so I don't think I have need to get any of those 2 maps until I reach a high LvL, do I?

I think I should probably just wait until I reach LvL 20 with my Smn so that I can go and do the mini avatar battles. (hoping I'll be able to solo them myeslf without any help from anyone else)

In the meantime........ I'll go off and kick some mobs arse and have some fun.
