Mog House Quest Is Confusing Me.

Has anyone here done that quest?

I started reading all the replies from various players, (going down the page) and a lot of them were confusing me because people were all saying different things, and I didn't know who to believe. I didn't even know that you needed fame for it until some few posts later. (my fame for Sandy is level 4) I just started reading the quest, (up top) followed it as best I could, then came back later to read all the replies.

Anyway, I have a question to ask about it.
It says that the starting area is windurst Woods, but my chars home town is Sandy.
I have placed a Bronze Bed in my Mog House, and so I presume that I have to wait until next week to get the prompt from my moogle to give him the Beetle Ring, and the Power Bow. But what I want to know is..... do I speak to the moogle in my home town, or at Windurst Woods like it says at the top of the quest page?

After placing the bed in my mog house in Sandy, I made my way to Windurst, and rented a mog room there, so I don't know if this going to hamper things on what happens next.

Can anyone help me out here please?

speak to your moogle in your home town. if you have enough fame in sandy, he should tell you about the quest. i believe you can talk to the moogle from a rented room and get the quest activated too, but it's been ages since I did that one so I don't exactly remember.

The first one can be done at like fame lvl 2 or 3 I believe. the 2nd one is 6 or 7 iirc. The last requires hero fame, or near hero fame. Check somepage, it has the needed fame levels.

I'm not sure whether you fit the other requirements of this quest such as fame level and what not etc etc. But to specifically answer your question

1. Yes, you have to wait until next conquest or tally (so either after this Sunday's Tally or next Sunday's if you just put the bed in there today - this happened to a friend who put the bed in on Saturday/Friday becase he thought he could get the quest on Sunday, for some it worked for him on the lowest fame one but not the higher fame one)

2. Yes, you have to go back to Sandoria and talk to your moogle there to activate the quest, make sure to transfer your 'mog house' back to Sandoria tonight. This is just a precausion, I've heard some weird stories from friends.

Okay, firstly..... my fame for sandy (my chars home town) is at level 4, and so I should be able to start the first part after this Sunday's tally.
It was kind of half way through this week when I placed the Bronze Bed in my mg house (I think it was either Tuesday or wednesday I placed it in, so hopefully I should get the quest started next week, though ~Caspian~ said that for the 2nd one, you would need either around fame level 6 or 7, so I will have to do some quests and what not for the 2nd part before I can get the 2nd one started.

Secondly......
I think I maybe a bit confused again.
~neighbortaru~ said that you can start the quest from a rented room (which to me says either of the 3 main towns (Sandy, Windy, or Bastok) regardless of which is your home town. Then you ~sdillon~ said that I have to start the quest in my home town of Sandy.

You're both telling me two different things, which now has me confused again.

So, do I start the quest in my home town then, (if I make my way back over there and change to a rented room in Sandy before Sunday) or can I stay in windy and activate the quest in the mog house in Windy Woods there?

Hero fame?? I presume this is the highest level of fame that you can get to for each city/town. (which I think is around level 9 last time I looked, but I'm not remembering 100%) Is that correct?

snowball, if you read over what i said again, I said "i believe" it works from rented rooms, but am not 100% sure. if you want to be sure to get the quest, and not risk not getting, just talk from your home town.

Just do everything in Sandy ^^ simply said, its the safest way.

There are variations and different people have done it different ways, so my way is not the only way. However, I've not had a problem with any of the 3 quests, did them consecutively in 3 weeks very smoothly. Made sure not to have any 'rooms rented' 24hrs before the tally, made sure that my mog house is currently at my home town 24hrs before the tally.

One thing I did do, that may not have been necessary was to have the bed in there around 4-5 days before the tally. I know you have that (if you put it in on Tuesday) and I dont think its a requirement.

Okay, I'm back again.

I just logged in this Sunady evening, and went to speak to my moogle, and sure enough, I got the cutscene. (the moogle says he is homesick and wants to take a vacation e.t.c) So he asks for the Power Bow, and the Beetle Ring, and I was able to give/trade them to him...... so far so good.

The only thing I have a small problem with now, is when he says he will be back later with a gift. (i.e. the mog safe uprage)

How long do you have to wait before your moogle gives you the upgrade?
I have been back and fourth to my mog house 2-3 times to check, (I went off to do some levelling, and then came back) but he hasn't given me the result yet, to say that I have got the upgrade.
Please help!

I've been struggling with this one too (And my fame is maxxed in all three nations.). Advice that my linkshell gave to me was that I had to leave my mog inside my home nation's residential district for a while without constantly doing those rent-a-room checkouts when I frequent Jeuno and other places (I'm notorious for it).

My friend told me it took him about a week to grab the upgrade to his safe. But don't hold me on that.

should be a couple of real-life days. definately should get it after the next conquest.

and just to play it safe, talk to him again in your home nation.

I asked players in my LS about it too. (asking how long you wait for the upgrade)
A couple said it was about 3-4 days. I guess they're not too far wrong then.


Now, I only have fame level 4 in Sandy at the moment, and so I won't be able to complete the second part for the next upgarde until I have done some more quests.
Was it around fame level 6-7 for the next one?
