  • This DAMN ANNOYING Windy Quest!

Could anyone please tell me why I can't always trade Bastore Sardines to the NPC in Port Windurst? I went through the dialogue with him the first time, and he says I can trade him the sardines and so I did, and it worked, and you get a small amount of gil each time.

But THEN...... after a while, his dialogue changes, and I can't trade him anything.
This is just SO DAMN ANNOYING *GRRRR!!!!*
as I am trying to raise my fame for Windy so I can get the second part of the Gobbiebag Quest in Jeuno!

I have been trading things to Melyon in Selbina which has raised my fame for Sandy, giving me lvl 4 fame, and I presume the same for Bastok too.
But my fame for Windy is presently only at level 1.

Do I need the Jeuno lamp lighting quest to raise my fame in Jeuno too, to get the Gobbebag quest done?

Also, can anyone tell me...... is the trading of Beehive Chips the best bet to go for, instead of the sardines, because I want a quest where I can always trade something to an NPC without any little annoyances where I can't trade anything at all!

I know there are other quests aswell as the Beehive Chip one, but what have the majority of people here felt was the best one for them, and why?

snowball, please use the appropriate forums.

the bastore sardine quest is the most annoying quest to raise fame in windurst. after each trade, you have to zone out and talk to her again in order to be able to trade.

THE BEST way to raise windy fame is the Mandragora Mad quest. Trade cornettes to Yoran-Oran. if bastok is in 2nd or higher place in conquest, you can buy unlimited cornettes from the music shop in bastok markets.

    Thanks Yyg!

You're fame will go up faster if you do different quests rather than repeating the same one over and over. Its alot more fun too. My advice would be to run around Windurst and pick up as many as you can, then look on Alla or Somepage to see which you can do at your level.

Scouncer, you have to zone every time you trade a sardine for that quest to work. It really is the worst possible way to raise Windy fame. I'll be on tonight so if you want to do some quests I'll print off a list of some fun ones we can do and you may actually enjoy some of them. =P

The Star Onion Brigade quests are really fun. It's ironic that Windy is the most annoying place to do quests but it has the best cutscenes for those quests.

Cool! You can print off some quests that you know of, but if we don't both live in the same country, and our time zones differ, then it would be quite awkward or otherwise difficult or impossible for us to do the quests together. I could do them on my own if this is the case, or maybe with another ingame friend.

I never knew that the sardine quest was the worst Windy quest until I heard it here. It CERTAINLY can be a nuisance haveing to keep zoning in and out evrytime I have to trade but 1.... single fish each time.
Why did SE even CREATE this quest if it is THIS annoying!

Anyway, I never thought I'd have to do any since now, because I REALLY WANT to get enough fame so that I can get the 2nd part of the Gobbiebag quest, and so I won't get it unlesss I do any quests in Windurst.

If you know of any good quests, (the ones you said you would print off) would you either be bale to post them as a PM to my Inbox, or I could give you my e-mail address, and you could post them there.

Grizzlebeard was my old EQ character name I used to create my account on here with before I decided to go with a new name.

I'm really sorry for posting in the wrong part of the forums.
I tend to feel that people are making all their posts in "General Discussions" and because of this, they don't seek out the quests forums and read posts there as much. But if you would prefer that I still make my quest posts there, then I will, and I'm really sorry.

              Moving on a bit.....
Thank you for the link you gave me. I shall read up on it.
However, I don't really like to go all the way to a city just to get 1 thing in order to go all the way back again as I feel this is too time consuming and tedious.

When I have some time, I may go out collecting them from Mandragoras instead.
