Im at the part in the mission where I need to go to Delkfutt Tower and climb to the top. At the moment I am a LVL 39 Dark Knight. Would this part be impossible to solo, and if so how many other people should I need?

Sorry this is not in the Mission section but I am at work and unable to verify my POL account.

Yes it is impossible solo at your lvl. I would recommend a part of 50-60 or higher to make it a breeze to get thru.

You can't be serious, I did this with three people all at around 40 or so. People can make Rank 10 at Lv65, why on earth should you need Lv50-60 players to get Rank 4?

Yeah lvl 50-60 does sound a bit much. But I guess it is better safe then sorry. Ill have to beg my LS to help me out this weekend.

you don't need a party of 50-60's, just someone that can solo the lvl 36 Giant that drops the keys. If you bring along silent pots and prism powders, you can sneak your way to the top.

How about trying to form a pt of people your lvl to go do it? You know like the way we did back in the "old days"? ROFL I see so many people that just want to breeze through everything and not do it the way it was meant to be done. I really think they miss making fun memories when they do this. But, meh, I'm in the minority on this one.

Hey it was a long time since I did it ok!!!! And I did it with an alliance of 18 ppl!!

Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to do this nowadays? Idiots that don't know how to avoid aggro, people who not bring silent/prism pots, etc. Try this enough times and I bet you'll say fuck it too and just grab a friend to solo the giant.

Why yes I do know. I have made several characters. Two within the past 2 months and on a different server than my main characters. So basically I'm starting from scratch because I don't know a soul on that server. I still believe that people DOING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME should get a group their lvl and do it. I have so many wonderful memories of doing missions and quests this way. Mistakes happen, people die, but in the end you have a sense of accomplishment. You persevered and you DID IT! On my 6th try I finally beat the Shadow Lord, and omg the stories I could tell from all the other pt's. And 5 out of 6 of those pt's I formed on my own.

I find that first timers that just want to be taken by the hand and given everything are usually the ones that just want to make it to 75 as fast as they can. Everyone is different. I prefer to get the most out of the game and enjoy every aspect that I do, some people just want the satisfaction of having it done and getting to the top. But most of the people that whine about the game and end up quitting, are the people that only want to be uber.

Yeah I would rather do this. But do you know how hard it is to find a party of people who are willing to take the time to help you out on a mission. There are not a whole lot of people that would take the time out of their busy "careers" and help someone on something that they will get little or no gain out of. Plus there is nothing wrong IMO with getting help from a person who is a higher lvl then you. It is just like in real life, when you were a kid and someone was bullying you, you went and got the biggest toughest friend you knew and had then help you. Either that or you just went and got a baseball bat and well....jk

/edit Well to comment on your last post as you were posting the same time I was. I am not trying to complete this mission with a higher lvl person just so I can breeze through the game. If I can get help from other people my lvl then so be it, if not I will turn to my LS and see what help they can lend. I am far from being "uber" or rushing to get to 75. Seeing how I have had the game since May of last year and my highest job is only 39.

It took me over a month to get Shadow Lord killed. I don't get to play as often as I would like. But when I did get time to sit, relax, and play, I would hit my Friend's List and look for people that needed that Mission. After that I would ask LS members. Then I would do /sea's checking rank and first msg people I pt'd with and was familiar with. Then last I would just start msging everyone to fill the spots we needed filled. Also once people were in the pt, I would ask them to ask their friends and LS members if anyone needed the Mission. It took a little bit of time but I got a pt together and went. Of course, as I said, we failed 5 out of 6 times! LOL But when I finally beat it....YES!!! it sure did feel good.

Most people don't like to make the pt's to do this. They don't like msging people and asking if they want to get this rank or quest done. Totally understandable, I wasn't too thrilled myself. But it really isn't as hard as people make it out to be. If you can't get a pt or alliance going at the time your trying, try again a different day at a different time. Too many people want it on the first try or right now, right now, right now!! (Right now is one of my son's specialties! LOL ) Are you trying on the weekends when there are more people on or weekdays? Adjust and try something opposite of what you are doing. Sometimes you just have to be a bit more flexible to get the job done.

I remember the rank 4 mission particularly well...cause I was only rank 2 when I did it.. I was approaching level 30 in Qufim for the first time, and we were looking for better hunting grounds.. According to my strategy guide, there were giants in Delkfutt's Tower that were good hunting at our level. So we climbed the tower in search of them. I also knew there was....something related to a future mission up there, but had no idea what..

Several hours later, we managed to kill Porphyrion, then got wasted by Mimas' Hundred Fists when we pressed our luck and tried to take him on, too.. A week or two later, when I actually got to the rank 4 mission, I already had the key, completing it took all of 10 minutes or so..

That was a great group.
