  • What should I bring to Promyvion Holla? And Does anyone have any tips for Holla?

    I'm doing Promyvion Holla and was wondering If I'm forgetting anything, I've lost at it 5 times now and don't want to fail and don't want this to be the sixth time. As it stands this is what I have coming into the battle;

    This is what I brought being a WAR/NIN.
    25 Hi-Potions
    12 Holy Waters
    12 Echo Screens
    12 Eye Drops
    12 Antidotes
    12 Poison Potions
    99 Horn Arrows
    12 Meat Mithkabobs (for the normal mobs)
    4 Meat Chiefkabobs (for the boss)
    2 stacks of Blink Tools
    1 Anima

    I know I could buy +1 and +2 hi-potions but they only provide 10 to 20 more HP. As it stands I could only hold 4 to 5 more items with me. So I would just like to know if there is anything else I should look for going into this battle? I got $9000 to spend and I'm just wondering what else could help.

    Also does anyone have any good tips for this battle, right now as it stands I will be going in with at least 3 anima in my party.

    Don't eat food. Cancel protect/shell if you're tanking =>_>=;;
    Bring two rangers =<.<=
    Mages should be spamming cure I/II on you instead of waiting for your hp to drop low and use cure III.

      bring an icarus wing. sure, you can probably beat it w/o it provided you have a good pt setup, but you definitely don't want to have lost because you were just short of finishing off the boss (which you could have done w/ the item).

        oof..
        i just came back from my second lost in my linkshell.
        one of my m embers nearly threw his laptop out the window after his 12th lost in promyvion holla . lol

        what i noticed was that you should use Poison ption (as a tank) all the time after 50% of monster life and keep that on so you dont get slept. Then counter that poison potion effect with Pamama au Lait which is HP regen +2/3 sec.

        Also, i foudn it more hlepful that you use hi-potions DURINg the fight and nto when you're about to die because you'll be too busy eating the potions to fight ...then get killed because the amt he hits is equal to the amt you get HP back from those hi-potions.

        I ate about 5 hi-potions in less than 10 seconds by spamming the macro "/item "Hi-potion" <me>" to stay alive when my party died on me.. and i lost because i was unalbe to deliver the last couple blows since i kept drinking the potions.

          I won!

          This probably is not the best way to win at this battle but this is what I did, I took $40,000 I made on a Friday night while farming, during anime hour here in Canada. With it I bought what I had listed above except I ended up buy five move Hi-Potions.

          25 Hi-Potions
          12 Holy Waters
          12 Echo Screens
          12 Eye Drops
          12 Antidotes
          12 Poison Potions
          99 Horn Arrows
          12 Meat Mithkabobs (for the normal mobs)
          4 Meat Chiefkabobs (for the boss)
          2 stacks of Blink Tools
          1 Anima

          One thing that I’m happy I did, it that I gave anyone in my party who did not have the money, or had forgotten to bring, the needed potions. So what I generally did was 3-4 Hi-Potions, 3 Holy Water, 3 Eye Drops, 3 Poison Potion, and for one person a Meat Chiefkabobs. I ended up with only 17 Hi-Potions going in but I would be okay. My Party set-up was SMN/WHM, BLM/WHM, RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, WAR/NIN, WAR/NIN. We went in with two anima Psychoanima (Stops Normal Attacks) and Hysteroanima (Stops Special Attacks like the mobs AoE).

          The battle didn’t go exactly as I planned we had the mages move across the bridge and set-up there, the RNG/NIN moved to opposite sides of the ring. And me and the other WAR/NIN pulled the mob to the other side opposite the bridge. We generally pulled hate back and forth for about 1/5 of the mobs health, then it turned on me and decided it liked me, and I went through 17 Hi-Potions in under 2 mins, of none stop macro button pushing. When I was through them, I shouted 2 hour, and both anima were used and all 6 of us used our two hours and any built up TP (I had 200%). In the end we won with no one under 300 HP, and most people didn’t use the Hi-Potions I lent them, so I should be able to lower the cost of the battle to about $30,000 which when you think about its not that bad seeing you spend 3-4 hours doing one round at Holla, and it only took me 3-4 hours of farming to make the money. Now all I can say is that the Stronghold is cool, and you have to come see it. Also if any of those I went into battle read this, thank you again, you helped make my 6th time the last time.
