Rank 5 (Mission 10)? Question

I just got the mission and I was about to do it until I saw "Server Maintence" -_-'

Anyways, we found another problem. No one knew where to go! ^-^" Could anyone give me directions for what to do during Rank 5/Mission 10 after we've spoken to all of the NPCs we have to proceed to the dungeons to retrieve Magicite? Thanks in advance!

You may as well do it yourself. If you can find your way around you can solo it. There is only one place you have to drop invis (to open a door) and you can do it if you are patient and wait for the guards to move.

You can't quite do this by yourself at Lv32...I wouldn't try. There's one part in Bedeaux where you must fight 2 NMs for drops, then go back and trade them to a taru in tenshodo for the items to open the door to the magicite chamber there. These NMs are not even close to soloable by LV32, so I would suggest doing that part with your BLM friend who should be a big help but you might want a tank to come along. After that, the rest of the stuff is just sneak/invising through to open all the doors to the magicite chambers.

BLM55 should be able to handle the NMs in Beadeaux. A THF sub would help expedite the matter. But after that you can do the rest pretty much solo.

Davoi can be a little tricky, those Orcs agro from around the damn corner. They must smell newbie blood or something. I died twice there. I think I was Lv.40-something.

Castle Oztroja is ugly with a big group. 10 people knowing where to go, and all trying to lead. Go with 1 person who knows how to get there, and buy Prism Powders!!

I can't stress that last part enough! Yes, you can cast all cloaking spells on yourself, but they randomly wear, and cast time is just long enough every Yag in there could eat you!

Make sure you can Warp with BLM sub, or bring a Insta-Warp Scroll. I've escorted a number of people through Oztroja and only needed two Prism powders. Other times it cost me 4. In and out in 10 minutes.

Then, spend your Rank 5 gil wisely, and enjoy the Airship. I can't remember the last time I rented a bird.

I rent them all the time. I'm not freakin walking to Boyhada Tree everytime... You definately don't need Chocobos as much when you have airship pass, but you still need them.

Castle Oztroja is by far the hardest magicite to reach. Davoi and Beadeaux are so easy its a sin. Hard part about Beadeaux is the NM's. Wait at the entrance and have the BLM go and kill the 2 NM while you lot on the items. Multiple drop every time, so no thf sub needed.

Davoi is simply walk in, take the path on right, cross bridge, turn left, and enter wall. 30 secs. Just have to watch for the orcs guarding the wall. Make sure their backs are turned, drop invis, and click on it. Once you are inside zone is right there in case you get aggro. Warning, you can't enter if you have aggro as a poor WHM found out the other night when I was there. I helped him out, but he was freaking because he thought he could enter even if orc was attacking. Nope, he would have died.

Actually, I disagree with Ramzi. You CAN enter Davoi's wall if the orcs are aggro on you. I mean it worked fine for me, either it works the same way for all of us, or I got the really "special" copy of the game. However, you do have to be:

1. Very, very fast.

2. Very, very lucky.

Basically, if you look at what's happening to you when you try to click the wall while an orc is hitting you, you'll see a message about "event skipped". This means the orc smacked you before you could trigger the animation of you walking through the wall. You will get "event skipped" even if you have stoneskin up and the orc hits you, because the game engine is playing the "orc hitting you" animation instead of the "walking through the wall" animation. (This is exactly the same thing that happens if you try to read a Stone Monument text while a monster is trying to hit you, if you feel like testing it out somewhere outside of Davoi). If you're fast enough, however, you can sometimes get through the wall while the orc is beating on you, just as long as he doesn't land anything while you're walking through the wall.

And yes, I have verified this by entering the wall while having a Bowshooter pincushion me from across the room. Arrow hit me, I dropped target on the orc and switched back to the wall, clicked the wall, passed on through, next arrow hit me. Ranged attacks are very slow, however, and that probably accounts for my success. Point is, it's worth trying, because getting through that wall sure beats having to be tractored through and raised.

currently doing this mission my self and all this info is very helpfull. Like kitalrez saidyou can definitely get hit and still go thru that door. Just did it today actually lol. Now all thats left is the castle. Everyone keeps saying prism powder what about silent oil do you need those at all.
