It can pop in any of the map blocks surrounding (G-8). It is always at the base of a tree.

On the map, look for the blocks that surround G-8... So F-7, F-8, F-9, G-7, G-8, G-9, H-7, H-8, H-9. Try to target the base of all of the big trees on the paths there. It should take you 5 minutes or so to check that whole area on a chocobo.
