Missed missions; can you do them later?

I've posted about this in a few other FF forums, but no one seemed to be sure about it.

In San D'Oria later on, the guards give you an option whether to do mission 5 or 6. My question is, can you do mission 6, and come back later for mission 5, or will 5 be gone forever? Have you tried this before?

You can come back to do it later.
Whenever you finish the current or next mission^^
Don't worry, and you can repeat some mission that the gaurd offer too...

Thanks for the assurance. I'll just be doing the Davoi Report (Mission 5) after the Journey Abroad (Mission 6) then. Think I'll be able to solo it after?
