  • Bastok Mission 6

I've been hearing all over the place that there is a dragon boss to the end of this one. It's the one where you need to travel to Windhurst and too San' Doria. Is this true? What levels were you when you killed it?

i have yet to kill the dragon waiting for me. however, there is a level cap of 25 meaning that if you're level 30 your level will be temperarly be reduced to 25 until the end of the battle. as far as how strong you should be... anywhere from about level 18-25 should be able to kill the dragon if they're in a good party.

I've got rid of the WarChief Vatgit deal in San. I've only had the dragon left. However, a friend of mine told me these details:

-Anyone can help you with this quest, although there is a level restriction at 25, but it doesn't do anything permanently to the character if they are above that level.

-Anyone from Windhurst can help you with this quest provided that they are at Rank 3 or higher.

-Your party should consist of a minimum of level 20 members. There is a big difference in statistics between a level 18 character and a level 20, enough that it does make a difference on how the battle will be played out. I suggest making the extra effort if you are at 18 to level to 20 or even higher.

-You cannot form an alliance. The restriction is of only up to 6 members in a party.

-The dragon has an assistant that is not that easy to dispatch, unlike the ocrs surrounding Vatgit. FYI.

-The dragon can cast a curse which lowers your max HP level to a point similar to right after being revived upon death on the field. Be sure to have a strong WHM in party or at least a couple of good RDMs or characters with a strong WHM sub in the fold (Ideally with Cure II).

-Don't use weapons that you've only begun to use and thus your potential damage is really low. Try to use a weapon where the skill has been maxed out or nearly so. Always remember to check your equipment.

Other than that, have fun. I think the experience is random as well, as I've heard stories that the dragon is very difficult to defeat and very easy. Afterall, it really depends on which way the dice is rolling for your party ;o

How hard would it be for level 25's? I've been stuck on this mission forever because I only have one person who can reliably help me with it, and I fear that if I don't get it done soon, I'm never going to.

            We killed the dragon some days ago with 3 people. Me - L25 War/Mnk, Shogan - L25 Thf/Mnk and Heales - L22 Whm/Blm.
I engaged the dragon, Shogan backstabbed it and used his 2hr Perfect Dogde. When dodge ran out i used my 2hr Mighty strikes, voked once - and tanked for the rest of the fight.
After the dragon was dead we dispatched his assistant and watched the cutscene. Btw, Heales still had Benediction and 60MP left.
The fight was much easier then i had feared, but then again we got lucky because the dragon didnt use any nasty specials.

              Nasty spells?
              I was cursed.
My friends were laughing because I could run to Mhaura at half speed.
My WHM friend was /follow'ing me tho, so that made me feel better... only a bit. He was teasing me about it. :p
