Contents:
Bring 4 Black Steel Ore (?u?•“S?z?v) to be used for Galka's smithing. It can be mined for at the Gusugen mine, but a llittle amount can be mined at Zuerlen, too. Buy several pickax at Auction or Bastok Port Geer Shop near Air Travel Agency (about 200G for each), and trade them at mining points scattered around in the mines.

Or Chocobo's digging (?uŒŠŒ@‚è?v) can also work. Do it anywhere in North Gustaberg. You have to have veggies for Chocobo (?uƒMƒU?[ƒ‹‚Ì–ì?Ø?v) to let your Chocobo dig.

You can undertake this quest as many times as you want.

I have the items but I can't get the quest. I read on a JP site something about finishing the tenshoudou missions in Bastok, and suitable fame. Is there anything else I must do before I accept it?

You have to be a member of Tenshodo to undertake Ž‡‘Ñ (Purple Belt) quest.
You can be a member of Tenshodo through clearing a quest at Lower Jeuno. And here is the explanation of the quesst.

Title of the quest:
Tenshodo Enrollment (“V?»“°“ü‰ï)

NPC to talk to:
Ghebi Damomohe

Location:
Lower Jeuno
Kaishinro Inn (ŠC?_˜O)
J-‚V (Reception Lady)

Contents of the quest:
To be a member of Tenshodo (?u“V?»“°?v), 'Tenshodo Registration Card' (?u“V?»“°“ü‰ï?\?ž?‘?v) or 'The Letter of Introduction for Tenshodo' (?u“V?»“°‚Ö‚Ì?Љî?ó?v) is required. Talk to the receptionist at the Inn and find the third blank option in the menu below buy or sell. Choose it and hear how to join in Tenshodo.
Bring in either of these papers to this receptionist and join in Tenshodo.

You can get 'Tenshodo Registration Card' (?u“V?»“°“ü‰ï?\?ž?‘?v) at Bastok Tenshodo after undertaking this quest.
You can ask your friend to give you 'The Letter of Introduction for Tenshodo' (?u“V?»“°‚Ö‚Ì?Љî?ó?v) or even buy one at auction. It may cost you as much as 1000G, but no worries. You will get another invitation card for another friend of yours after completing the quest. It means you may pass this card around in your PT.

Please try undertaking Ž‡‘Ñ quest aafter joining in Tenshodo and making sure that you can get in a Tenshodo shop hidden behind the door furthest in the Kaishinro Inn. Good luck!

um isn't black steel ore hard to make in terms of synthesizing? its like a nataro(sp) rank. i may be wrong, just asking.

Please be aware of difference...

Black Steel Ore (?u?•“S?z?v) is one of the minerals you can be mine with pickax (?u‚‚é‚Í‚µ?v at Mining Points or dig out using Chocobo. So it doesn't requre any Guild Skill. It just needs some luck to mine without being killed by monsters.

You probably mean Dark Ingot (?uƒ_?[ƒNƒCƒ“ƒSƒbƒg?v) by this sentence. And I presume you have been mixing these two things ('Black Steel Ore' and 'Dark Ingot') up. Dark Ingot can be made when your Guild Skill of Smithing is above Natori (?u–¼Žæ?v) level with the following recipe.

Fire Crystal + Steel Ore (“S?z)?~‚R?@+ Black Steel Ore(?•“S?z)

The only lists I can find are somewhat small, so I'm always looking for new things to make, but experimenting never seems to get me anywhere : P


And for some higher level syth stuff, will it not let you try if you're too low.
Cuz I've tried some recipies and it just wont let me do it rather than it failing.
