As I've done (very) lite research on what has changed since I've been gone, and I seem to get the gist of it. It's been about 5 years, though, haha.

Been traveling across the country for the past 4 years or so. In a weird way, I would attribute that to FFXI. Because of the game's wonderful "exploration-soundtrack" music, I became a musician. Because of me becoming a musician, I started adopting a more rustic and nomadic outlook. It's all kind of strange, I suppose, but I do notice that many other kids on the road are also raised on Final Fantasy, ORPGs, and the like. Food for thought, I guess.

Figured I'd register here, say 'sup, and get ready for college, final fantasy XI, and a distinct lack of sex in my near-future. My RDM will be my only lover. And sleepless nights with Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Beyond Good and Evil, of course (can I even get a job anytime soon being a philosophy major? Guess I'll find out)

Also, any recommended servers? Thanks, y'all.

As for your post, it's cool that you traveled the country using FF soundtracks as an ambiance.

I hear you on the major/job issue. I went to college to study Religion... followed up by a stint in semenary to become a protestant minister. After some time to think things through, I opted to abandon that life-goal in search of something else. As such, my religion degree doesn't really afford me as many options as I would hope, lol. Most times, people look at my resume and back to me... look at my resume... and back to me.

"Really? religion? And you want to work for us?"

It's good for a laugh at least, all I can say is that Human Resources for every company I've ever worked for has LOVED me.

"Religion you say? Thank god... at least SOMEONE won't be corrupt!"

I have a feeling you'd fit in rather well with the community here. There are others such as ourselves who have interesting and ultimately useless degrees... but I'll let them introduce themselves.

As for servers? Unfortunately, the linkshell I had started on Valefor that welcomed new and returning players has since dissolved, but you're still welcome to join me... if for no other reason than good convorsation between like-minded people.

As a word of advice... keep Religion and Philosophy out of the forums. They tend to draw a lot of unwanted debates and ultimately end in a war of flaming. It's just good practice to avoid things like... Religion and Politics here. If you really feel the need, the best place would be the "Off Topics" section... but don't say I didn't warn you.

Also, I didn't really use the music as an ambiance in and of itself, it just kind of snuck into my life in a way that influenced me some what. Don't really worry about all that, just romanticism on an 18-year old level. The kind that deserves giving one's self a swirly(?! That's just whacky, brah!)

Shit, I forgot, does DQ serve swirlies or some such thing? Like, their default ice creams?

Fair warning. I'm debating moving to Cerberus as of late. That may be more incentive or less... depending on your opinion of me, lol. But yeah. Chances are I won't be here on Valefor much longer.
