Thinking of coming back..

Hey guys,

So i'm thinking about coming back to FFXI.
Its just too good a game.
I could probably go on for a while about why its so good, but I'm not really sure its necessary!

I used to have a 75 NIN, WAR, few 50's, 40's, 30's, whatever.
Had Zilart done, was working on CoP.
I was happily Geared. Really worked for my favorite pieces (The days of camping Lizzy, O.kote, etc) and was pretty well off.

Then my account got hacked.

I logged in one day to find i was standing in Zi'Tah half naked with everything yoinked and even half of my rare-ex stuff dropped (major bummer).
This was at the time a lot of the hacking had been on the go (maybe it still is, i have no idea) and I didn't have much faith in SE to get everything back for me, so I just gave the game up.

Now I want back in.
I've heard the game is on easymode now and that doesnt really bother me or whatever.
I just love playing this game.

That being said, I guess I'm starting at square 1.
I dropped out not too long after WoTG released so I have no idea how the playing field has changed since then really. I heard Abyssea is all the rage?
Do people still do missions and stuff? Sky, sea, dyna, is it all obsolete?
Anyways, what I'm really wondering is if theres an LS or a few people who are still doing low level content or at least helping the newbs find their way. I read that theres an LS or something here thats into that jazz? Whos should I talk to? Is there anything an old player should know about the game now that might turn him off from it? I hate playing MMO's alone and I love making new friends and being part of a social group.
I'm a friendly player and i would really like to find a group to play with so I could return to FFXI.

You've come to the right place.

MyLittleChocobo (funny name, isn't it?) is recruiting. We are on the Valefor server.

We are rebuilding our linkshell to provide for new and returning players; believe it or not, just several months ago, I was in a similar position as you. I came back, and I've had fun since. Quests and missions still keep people busy, so I hope that answers that question. Abyssea is the new rage, but you won't be any help until you hit around lvl 75 (current cap is 90 and will be raised to 99 soon).
