Returning to FF11

Hey all

After trying Final Fantasy 14 and being unable to actually play, I am planning on returning to Final Fantasy 11.
From reading the forums on MMORPG and these forums, it seems to me the FF11 community is growing even though 14 is about to come out.
Am I correct? Are there many linkshells for new/returning players to join in?

Also, I can't remember my PlayOnline ID/Password. I sent a support request but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas about this.

If you ever feel that someone's post has violated the rules, you can report them. There is an icon with a "!" under your name in the bottom left corner that is the "Report Post" button. You can also ignore people that you find offensive by using the Ignore feature. Try to use the Ignore feature instead of becoming angry and arguing. Click on the users name and a box will pop up with some options, the bottom option is to ignore that user. Flaming, regardless of who started it, is against the rules. Always remember that the forums are a public place, there will be people here that don't agree with your opinions and they'll tell you so. Don't get angry and take it personally.

ALSO, I would phone them about your ID/Password issue. Many times the email support is like talking to a wall, you'll receive no response. Unfortunately, they will not be open on Sept. 6th so you'll have to wait until the next day.

Have as much information as you can available when you call, like your personal info, credit card info, POL ID and password (returning and established players), and possibly your registration codes.

Yes, I have all my information, including registration code. The only thing I don't have is my PlayOnline ID and password

Just thought about this.
What if I purchase FF11 on Steam?Would they let me create a new playonline ID/pass with the same credit card information and what not?

Also, how is the community?Many linkshells for new/returning players?
