coming back with a couple questions...

i played this game for a few years on and off, and absolutely loved it. unfortunately, i never hit the level cap, and i think i could bear with losing my old character.

i found the "ultimate collection," with all the expansions that i never got for computer(xbox broke.)

anyway, i was just gonna start with a new account, but, i was just wondering if it still came with a month of free service. i know i like it, and i definitely want to start playing again(atleast till FFXIV comes out for PS3), but i was just wondering if it still has the month of free service, and also, i know the servers merged, so im assuming they're all fairly busy? i want one with a fairly high population, but i dont know if there are really any that are more or less populated than the others.

Dunno about the ultimate collection but if the 2008 collection pack was indication then yeah it'll come with a month free.

Quetzalcoatl got merged. It has more people on it than before it got merged. *shrug*

i figure it will probably come with a free month again, but yeah.

i actually used to play on quetzalcoatl, so maybe i'll come back to that server.

EDIT: i looked at a different site, and it says that it DOES come with 30 days free. so it looks like on july 2nd im coming back to good ol' FFXI.

Hey, I'm a Quetzalcoatl player!
I returned 3 days ago and found like 2,3k users online at 18:00 (GMT+1). The server is quite crowded now.

thats good. looks like i may as well go to quetz. i read something about needing a bank account when you sign up now. whats with that?

thanks for the answers. im really excited to play ffxi again. i played wow for a while, and it just didnt have that challenge or sense of accomplishment that ffxi did. or the friendly community. overall ffxi was just a much better game.

also, i seem to remember pretty much being able to play any job on any race(as long as the player was good). does this still apply? i used to play an elvaan red mage, and i'd like to play one again. i know its not the best race choice, but red mage is by far my favorite job, and im partial to the elvaan race. i havent kept up on everything and want to make sure an elvaan red mage isnt a mistake.

Well yes, by depending which race you choose a job will be better than other... I don't really pay attention to that thou, I like to use a Mithra regardless for what that race is good for. Just select what fits you the best.

Btw, I'm a red mage too :3
