    Returning player did they fix the annoying stuff yet?

    I know these topics have been done a million times sorry about that lol. So after 2 years away from FFXI spent on WoW after hearing about the level cap increase and just the fact that the game should be somewhat fresh after 2 years away I have a few questions before I come back

    A. Did they ever give players a free warp cudgel of some sort? it was preety annoying having to either lose XP or pay gil for multiple cudgels to get you through the day

    B. how out of date will my gear be last time I played my MNK had shura togi / Osode / AF2 Gloves Shura pants / Destroyers / Turban , O Hat , Dune boots etc

    C. is traveling still a pain in the ass will I start to cut myself if Astral Candy is down

    Basically did they simplify the things that shouldnt have been such a pain in the first place do RMTs still own all the decent NMs did they just add new Nms over the past 2 years or did they make some signifigant changes to better the game

    1. Buy a scroll of warp with conquest points.

    2. Those gears are ok but you'll have fun checking out what's new and hot and then obtaining them.

    3. Travel still takes some effort but if you are smart it's not that much of a pain. Outpost warps are your friend.

    The game has gone through some big changes (for SE) through the years but it is still NOTHING like WoW. It's more user friendly for sure but it's in no way a casual MMO.

      Thx for the response im coming back because it isnt a casual MMO ive reached rank 1 for my class in WoW for my server and at this point im just burned out on it. After hearing about the revamp to FFXI I really wanna come back. Are DRKs still the redheaded stepchild of FFXI partywise? im guessing ill need /SAM for my DRK since it was just starting to catch on when I left was the server merge a good thing? and any idea where I should start there must be a million things for me to do after 2 years of being MIA

        Drks will probably always be the red headed stepchild until people get their heads out of their asses and play the job right. I know it was hard enough for me to finally get my drk to 75 back in the day because people complain about bad drks all the time. Stacking abilities, not being aware of hate control, etc get us branded as no brain idiots. Even getting merit parties was hit and miss because most of the time it was:

        "There is a drk seeking."
        "Omg, nothing else is available?"
        "Nope, thats it. Do you want to wait?"
        "No, just get the drk. God I hope this guy isn't an idiot. Keep watching for another melee just in case though."

        If you are going to do endgame then you'll need /sam, /nin, /dnc (this depends on your ls tactics but the better ls's require this), /war, etc. I can't remember off the to of my head all of the subs I had to level.

        As for the merge, it certainly has upped the numbers on those merged servers but, as usual, that can be a good and a bad thing. There is more competition for endgame stuff and getting low level parties has gotten a tad easier but not extremely so since most of the population are endgame users.

        No idea where you should start though. I guess first would be to get in game and get back into the swing. Maybe level a sub or do some meriting. Then look for a decent ls that fits your needs. After that just do some online research and talk to ls members to get a jump on required equips and stuff.

          yeah Bad DRKs have always given DRKs a really bad name I mean I always played my DRK as my off job and then when my gear got decent and I got really good at the class my LS never wanted my MNK lol Its mainly the morons that dont cancel SE that give DRKs a bad name but it just seems to be the class people cant play worth a damn 90% of the time even with the 10% being good at it peoples overall view is dont inv the DRK

            Maybe if any of them bothered to stun instead of just being damage whores and mp sponges we wouldn't have this issue. Poorly played Dark Knights make my blood boil.

                  c. a second and more reliable guy will warp you for bronzepieces and doesn't get snached. Also using Wings of the goddess to warp around is great too!
