well i am a returning longtime player , coming back after over a year from FFXI . i been reading alot of the old sites and it seems like alot of new content has been added, last thing i remeber that was new was the lvl sync. is the new content fun or is it one more thing to be worrying about

Wings of the Goddess content is a lot of fun IMO. Especially exploring how Vana'diel looked then and meeting major plot-line characters 20yrs younger. Campaign is tons of fun, as well as Fields of Valor quests and NM fights.

I agree i have WOTG and last update i was on for was in OCT 2008..... wondering what is new since then i played alot of campaign and i agre it is way cool to play

Tons of really nice changes and updates, but far to many to recall and list here. Would be best if you go read through the Update Archives on the PlayOnline site.

well i have read the sites just some of it is confussing , and i know hat it gets easier to understand once you get in the game . i think the biggest thing i wonder about is the synergy system and the downloadable content

Havn't yet touched either of those, I too have been gone for about 5 months now, but I'm returning Feb 1st with a few members from my LS. I doubt I'll ever get around to doing the mini-adventures, and I've decided to not get into crafting again since FFXIV is so close. I did it years ago, but now would be semi-pointless.

I really just wanna run around, listen to music while explore the world of Vana'diel again...hehe, helping players if I'm in the area {new or vets} if I can...etc. If possible I'd like to make a bit more progress, but its not a priority. I just wanna enjoy being in a virtual world that I really love, that no other MMO has ever latched onto me; like FFXI has!

Hmmm. here goes

- Synergy system is a new crafting system based largely on support from other crafting systems
- The higher end items revolve around killing some tough NM's for the Ra/Ex crafting items.
- It is capped @ 50
- IMHO it is largely a waste of time, as most of the craftable items (which can accept different augments also using the syngergy system) are macro pieces, or so situational that you'd have to try multiple attempts at crafting to get the augment right...
- The new NM's that they updated are awesome, though, with lots of nicer pieces of gear for people that can't get things like Swift Belts, or Novio's.
- Augment system itself is still rather....blah, It's hit or miss, but Fields of Valor is exciting and useful. Good EXP, nice way to skill up Weapons, evasion, guard, shield, etc.
- Downloadable content, While teadious and arguably not worth 10 bucks, has some nice gear choices, and usually can be finished down to the final fight in 2-3 days.
- Other than that, it hasn't changed much, On valefor anyway, shout Dynamis are a common occurance, salvage also.

Pure awesome. Can’t emphases this enough. Lots of nice items available, especially for the Pet Job community.

In my opinion, this last update (from Nov I believe) is by far my favorite. Mainly due to all the new lottery/timer NMs that have been added. Seriously there’s tons. Almost 1-3 NMs per zone it seems.
