    wheres everybody at??

    i played this a few years ago but i quit when i moved away for school. found out that squenix released a 14 day trial and hopped on it. i was seriously thinking about buying ffxi again but i havnt found anybody to party with in 3 days. is seraph just a dead server or do people only care about endgame stuff??

    People tend to just solo through the lower levels these days, much better than the pain of partying in VD.

      how long can you solo? i went into the something canyon north of E sarutabaruta and tried grinding a little but i had to rest after each kill. im a rdm btw whats the earliest lvl ill likely be able to find a party? i thought mid teens you pretty much had to have one to do anything remotely fast

        10 is the level that you can and most likely should be partying unless there are special circumstances (like for example, a NIN that doesn't have access to Utsusemi: Ichi yet since he isn't level 12.) At level 10 you should report to Valkurm Dunes to LFP.

        Just FYI, to get to Valkrum go to Thyrongi Canyon (Probably spelled wrong) and then go East to Buburimu Peninsula, once in Buburimu, go Southeast to Mhaura and take the ship that goes from Mhaura to Selbina then exit Selbina to Vakurm Dunes. So that's :

        E. Sarutabaruta->Thyrongi Canyon -> Buburimu Peninsula -> Mhaura/Ship -> Selbina -> Valkurm Dunes

        Only added that in because you didn't say if you were LFP in Valkurm. Its harder to get a party from around your home nation especially if you don't have a subjob because most people figure you most likely don't have that outpost warp to warp from your home nation to Valkrum. That warp is especially hard to get if you are from Windurst so that's another strike against you.

            It used to be that most people would start looking for party at level 10. Even though SE has added different things to help us solo, for certain jobs it's still a bit of a pain. Plus you don't have your support job yet which does help a little. Then there's the party leaders that aren't willing to invite someone as far away as East Sarutabaruta or even Tahrongi Canyon. I'd recommend either going to tahrongi > Buburimu > Mhaura > boat to Selbina and looking for group whiile you're there or try creating your own party. If you can get 5 other people to agree to party in buburimu or even just a couple of others to low-man party in the canyon (you can move to Bubu y'all get higher). Also look up Fields of Valor on FFXIclopedia it has some experience bonus and effects you can "buy" once you have enough Tabs earned. My last bit of advice is that you will probably have better luck on the coming weekend.

              oh lordy thats a long walk. im a RDM by the way. i realize now how easy wow really was xD wtb a zepplin mah tiny taru legs wont make it all the way out there

                LOL, that's not a long walk. However, going to Valkurm from Windy without the boat is a long and dangerous walk.

                  or not.. dang i want to try actually playign with people but he cant get a trial code to send. anybody at all willing to try getting a trial code sent to sean1189[at]aol.com ? ill you :3

                    Are you guys going to share an account or are they separate? If they're separate you guys should probably play on the same server. Servers are all about the same, so it doesn't really matter which one you choose. If you can find a social linkshell when you start the game, that'll help you along because you'll have people to talk to. One of the most valuable resources that we use is www.ffxiclopedia.org it has guides on pretty much anything you'd wan to know about Jobs/Areas/Mobs/Weapons/Armor/etc. Another is www.ffxiah.com which shows you the Jeuno Auction House on your server so that way you don't have to go all the way to Jeuno to find out what things are going for at the AH.

                    EDIT: If you don't get the 14-Day code or it doesn't work, you'll probably need to call playonline and let them know so they can give you a working code.

                      ah ok ill try calling them. yes were going to play the trial together. ive been on for a few days now and he was interested but weve had nothing but problems trying to get a trial code for him. its like theres a 24 hour time limit on the ip or someting. i got my code and we got errors until the next morning. it worked again but for some reason i never got the emal to my yahoo account. then another 24 hours of errors and this morning it worked again. so now 2/3 of us have trial codes and slowly running out of time waiting for the 3rd to get it and yes well be playing on the same server soooo nice that you get to pick now i remember 4 or 5 years ago when i 1st tried the game it was random
