Hello I want to return to FFXI

Hi I been thinking alot about returning to FFXI. Its been 2 years sense I last Played! And I would love to come back to this game. But, I remeber several reasons why I quit! And I know games do patches to fix mmo's cause I play lots of them. But, FFXI has been one of my favorites ever!!! I would like to know a few things be for I re issue my game account.

1st off is the Gil Issue I remember prices being outragous! I have read much about the changes they made and how they figured out a way to solve the game econemy so. But still that was one of the reason's why I left. I would like a players openion on this issue.

2nd I remember everyone Had a huge bordom problem sticking mostly around main city area's and I found it VERY hard to find people to play and level with?

3 the server I played on was becoming dead. People were leaving the game. Most people would not accept me into new LS but looking back on it I would have to say It was probly an issue with people on the server Caitsith. Friendliness is CRUCIAL cause I am a people person I need the social enviroment. Last I remember that was becoming a big issue.

If anyone knows answers to these questions I would love to be convinced to return to FFXI! And I would also like a recomendation to what server would be highly active.

1) Gil deflation started to bottom out last summer and has finally ended only in the past month, according to the economy charts on FFXIAH. Basically, the STF unit relentlessly hounded the RMTs and erased billions of gil from the game every month.

If you had a few million gil back in the day, see if you can get your original account back. A nice chunk of pre-deflationary gil would be a good thing to have right now.

2) Level Sync fixed the LFG problem. Mostly. It eliminated the problem of having to find someone from a precise level range to XP with, but not the problem of certain jobs not getting invites for high-level XP parties.

3) Two years is a long time for the personality of a server to change. You should give it a try anyhow. In the worst case there's always server migration.

Also remember that in the past two or three years, FFXI's total population has stayed pretty constant at half a million. This means that new players come in at a rate roughly equal to the rate at which old players quit. So FFXI hasn't yet reached the "everybody is an old player" stage at the end of a MMO's life.

And in the time you've been gone, there has been at least one new expansion (WotG) and a couple of new jobs to try out. So there will still be stuff you haven't seen before, and some little things here and there have been tweaked, such as adding the Nomad Moogles in Mhaura and Selbina.

Hmmm That is one heck of a bait to reel me in on. ^_^ And no I didn't have millions lol. I always spent what I got. And was pretty content on just playing to spend time with friends. Hmm I might try to find my old Account info though. But starting over wouldn't be so bad ether. Really I just want to play. Old memories were fond ones. Thanks for your help. Do you have anything else to add? Or want to share?
