Where is everybody?

i returned to FFXI from a very long break(close to a year) i just need a quick update on how things run nowadays. If you can answer the following questions that would be great.

1.where is everyone lvling these days?
2. where would a suitable place for a lv 53 blm/rdm to lv?
3. would lv sync speed up lvling for my blm or would it be slower?
4. which missions give out xp?
5. im on the valefor srver, and jeuno is like a ghost town compaed to when i played months back, where is the new "jeuno"?

1. Depends on the level. 50+ is in Aht Urhgan areas, prior to that is still old levelling spots.

2. It's going to be hard for you to find a party because BLMs rarely get invites to XP anymore. But at that level I think people have started on Lesser Colibri in Wajoam Woodlands. I'm not 100% on that, but someone will come and correct me. Also you really should be subbing WHM for now.

3. Potentially yes, but you'll need to actually get invites first.

4. Chains of Promathia missions give XP upon successfully completing BCs.

5. Jeuno is where you hang out until you're 50+, then everyone moves to Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

I just started playing again today and I'm on Valefor. ^^ I noticed everything is kind of empty too...

Also, people 50+ are leveling in campaign (WotG) battle areas. And WHM from the late 30s because of XP from heals/raises. As a WHM I find the play style of the campaign battles vastly more fun than traditional XP party main heal.

I just personally don't like AU areas other than that it's easier to warp to Whitegate from my home city for 300 gil than going to Jeuno when I want to get something from the AH. And Besieged rocks.


And I think it should be pointed out that as a BLM, you might not do so good against the lolibri because they like to throw your spells back at you. I hear that BLMs these days either solo worms/slimes or they go off on their own and make 6xBLM or 5+RDM or 5+BRD parties.

But at that level I think people have started on Lesser Colibri in Wajoam Woodlands.

And I think it should be pointed out that as a BLM, you might not do so good against the lolibri because they like to throw your spells back at you.

Lesser Colibri will not reflect magic.
