I played FFXI from 2004 to mid 2005 and after more than 3 years I am considering coming back. Since I had a lvl75 BLM and know how long its usually taking to get to the higher levels, I am not planing to start from scratch. When I quit playing 3 years ago, I did cancel my content id, but I didnt delete my character, thats what I know for sure. So, I installed FFXI two days ago, and tried to recover my old character, but as it seems, Square deleted my old content id, since the option "recover content id" showed "no content id available" or so. My old Playonline account works still fine though. I know Squares 3 month rule, and I wasnt really expecting my character to still be there anyway.
I read about this Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign to be the only way to recover "removed" characters, unfortunately the campaign is not going right now and there is no anouncement when the next campaign might be either.
So, is there maybe any other way to get my old character back other than waiting for the next Return Home campaign?
