    Hey there,

    So after a long hiatus and after the raiding guild I belonged to in WoW fell apart, I thought to myself today to give FFXI another whirl. I didn't get too far into it, after all, had a mid-30's war/mnk on Shiva, "Argh", a LONG time ago before all these new classes arrived...

    I digress. So I have that infamous UCS-60257 error that is frustrating every returning player around the world it seems. I can't seem to get it resolved. It began when I first tried to register a new POL ID and everything. I got that error when I ran through all the hoops you need to run through and called up Square's tech support after trying again and again. They told me that that error means that the transaction was not accepted by my card (Harris debit mastercard) and bank and whatever. They also told me that there is a built-in security feature that disables the submission of my card data for 30 mins after incorrectly submitting it. So I called up my bank (Harris) and explained the situation. They told me that THEY DID authorize the transaction and couldn't for the life of them explain why it did not go through. So, naturally, I waited more than 2 hours for my next attempt and, after triple checking my billing info, I got the same error upon submission.

    I called my bank again now that Square tech support was closed for the day. They verified that indeed, one transaction was accepted and verified and everything, but they did not have a record of any other. This leads me to believe that my card is STILL locked down from a probable incorrect submission earlier.

    I will try again tomorrow morning, but, in case that one fails, can anyone please tell me if they have found a resolution to this? Please???

    Oh, and wht server should I be looking into to reroll on?

    While I haven't had this particular issue, I'll note that their system seems to be a bit on the rigidly paranoid side. It seems to be impossible to submit the same credit card info twice in the same 24-hour period even without an error in the first submission. I maintain the billing for two accounts on the same card, and if there is a change in card info (e.g. lost card being replaced), I need to start the process of getting new info into the system more than 24 hours before the billing cycle begins, because after changing over one account's info, I have to wait 24 hours for the second account.

      Okay, I got everything to work. It may just be that you CANNOT enter the same credit card data more than once in a day. I managed to register just fine the very next morning, no hiccups whatsoever.

      So, now I have a low lvl war on Odin, /hurray.
