Returning to Vana'diel

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've played. A whole expansion has come out since then, and I'm noticing some cool features that have been implemented. I had a couple of questions about buddy passes though, since that is what I will be using to try the game out.

1) What's the level cap for the trial?

2) Can I play in expansion areas from Promathia or Zilart?

3) Any communication/gameplay restrictions? Can I join a linkshell?

Any questions answered would be a great help. I'm just looking to try the game again, thanks.

During your trial you'll have all the benefits as someone who's paying for the game. There aren't really any restrictions on Buddy Passes.

From my understanding you only have the base game, so you won't notice any difference till around level 25 where you wont have access to Kazham(to my knowledge its a RoZ zone). Of course with level sync that's not even a big deal anymore, just sync down to a Dunes or Qufim party level and just hit it up.

I tried installing FFXI Online last night, I got some bullshit operating system validation error. Cheers for Windows Vista Home Premium!

Just incase the OP hasn't figured it out, you need to download Playonline from the site for Vista.
