Returning to Vana diel in 2 weeks

I played 2 years ago on Asura server.. I never really made it past about lvl 25 (Due to a vindictive girlfriend and her brother who stole all my stuff when they thought my internet was down).

I'm getting a laptop in 2 weeks (around the 18-19th to be exact) and i have the Vana'diel 2008 collection for PC ordered and on it's way right now. Both me and my current girlfriend (-soon to be fiance-) are going to start playing. And i was wondering what a good server to start on is. (When i did play you could choose server i think..if you cant, i might need some one to get me a world pass if possible)


Now, a couple of questions.

1. How populated are the servers now?
2. Are there plenty of low levels to party with?
3. The newest jobs are still the Blue Mage and Puppetmaster (puppeteer or something). Right?
4. If some one wants, i can come to their server if they have a good friendly LS i can join. (please, last time i didnt have many friends, and Asura was rude...like "ZOMG YOU DONT HAVE YOUR SUBJOB AT LVL 17? YOU CANT PARTY WITH US NOOB!!" ..that kind of rude (if i'm not mistaken subjob is 18.. and yes that actually happened...)


I'm a Veteran of MMO's.. I started back in the days of Diablo 1.. I have played a lot of different MMOs and never found one that i like as much as FFXI.

The server pops are fine except a few. Asura Supposedly has the best economy I really can't tell a difference. They're all below the stock market crash of 1929 anyway. The Odin server got in trouble for having too many people transfering and new people just being attracted to it like a bug zapper. Bahamut is doing it's usual thing.
I'm on Pandemonium, caps out to 2 thousand players online on weekends and 1 thousand to 1.5 thousand during weekdays.

2) The low levels to party with was never really a problem even on my server that nobody has ever heard of until you make a new character for fun.
The new update this morning (for me) has shown us the new Level Sync system that allows people who have jobs at a higher level than you delevel themselves so they can work in a party with you. It's not complicated it's just something I don't feel like typing out and explaining for the 30th time today.

3) Newest jobs I'll just start with Aht Urghan since you're familiar with it slightly.
Blue Mage, Corsair, and Puppetmaster
The new Wings of The Goddess Expansion gives us.
Dancer and Scholar
Dancer is becoming a lot like Ninja in the terms of, you'll sub it on everything.

4) I've been part of the same linkshell since 04, If you guy's want to come to Pandemonium look me up. I use the same name on here for there and I'll see about grabbing some Pearls tonight IF you guy's decide to come.

Thanks for helping out, I'm not sure about how many people on this forum are from what server, but I'm glad some people are friendly at least.

The disks are actually scheduled for delivery some time between the 12 and 16th.. and as i posted, i wont get my laptop untill the 18th or 19th.. but hopefully we'll have the game set up on one of the computers pretty fast. (at least within a day or two of getting the game.)

I've decided to go ahead and come over to the Pandemonium server, since your actually the only helpful person =(so far)=.

I look forward to playing again.
