3 years later, a Mithra misses her home
Well, it's been a little over 3 years since I played this game. A little part of me deep inside always wanted to come back. Recently the urge to check things out again started to grow more and more and after a couple of days of thinking it over I decided to make the plunge. I started out on the PS2 when I first started playing in 2004. I was playing EQ before that for a little, but it was always my intent to play FFXI when it was announced. When it was released, I eventually joined a couple of my friends from the game over to FF. Our LS(OrderofValiance) was never really a big one. Only around 10-15 active members at peak.
I had a great time playing the first few months. Eventually as time passed, the others either went their own way/stopped playing, etc. Towards the end I was the only one left
Being a lonely Mithra with no LS and a barely working old PS2 which couldn't read disc(so no expansions) I decided to call it quits around the Spring of 05.
Currently I play LOTRO, which I've had since release. I play on Arkenstone. If anyone else here happens to play it also, (Nephtis of Insurrection waves hi :p ) Been enjoying my time with the game and I've meet some nice people there, but a part of me wants to take a step back from it, atleast until the exp. comes out later in the year.
Anyways, before I get too off track here, I've made the decision to come back and test the waters again. I ordered the Vana'diel 2008 collection for the PC off Amazon and it should be arriving today/Thursday. Although I won't get a chance to fire it up till Sunday. It's also been a very long time since I been here too, my last log in was back in March 05, lol. I've been reading what i can and getting a feel for some of the changes that have been made to the game. Boy is there alot of going to have to catch up on, along with remembering how to play this game again.
To close out this post which has gone way too long(sorry), I broke out my old fatty PS2 from the closet to check out my account/character's, and thankfully my content ID's were still there ready and waiting for me. I took it as a sign giving me the "thumbs up". I doubt I would be able to start from scratch again. My character name is Xiuying and i play on the Odin server. My highest job is my DRK which I left and 64, and my THF which is at 61 if I remember correctly. I also have WAR/NIN/RNG all in the mid to low 30's. I'm not sure what to expect on my return. I've always been a person who's open to advice and always looking to improve, so any words of wisdom about the current state of the game/how to play would be appreciated.
I looking forward to getting my feet wet again and adventuring. It's probably alot to ask, but if any players on Odin who wouldn't mind helping a fellow mithra get back into the swing of things (friend/LS invite) I'd be open to the opportunity. Thanks for reading this long post of mine. I'm looking forward to posting here more and seeing everyone back in Vana'diel again.
