  • Any new love for Dragoons?

Hey everyone, I took about a 2 1/2 year brake from FFXI. I tryed WoW but it just felt really empty to me.... So I've become a resident of Guild Wars since then. Needless to say I've quickly outgrown the game. I'll keep my characters there still and because my girlfriend likes me to play with her..... But I need something more.

Everyone there is just so rude. They all have a chip on their shoulder and Something to prove. Almost everything in the game you can do yourself. I really miss the community of FFXI.

When I left I was a Lv45 Elvin Dragoon. I was around 80something alchemy skill. Kujata server. I'm sure my character data is long gone. I don't mind the start over if I can find some fun people to play with. I kept up with my linkshell for a little wile but it seems like most of them quit or moved onto new Ls's.

I'm actually really excited to read about the 2hr skill change for the dragoon. So I'll probly go back to that job when I rejoin. If not maybe it's time for me to find something else I like lol. I'm gonna get a buddy code from gamestop tomorrow to have a look around town. A little state of the game if you will.

My main fear is dedicating time to the game if you all see a downward spiral of people leaving to goto other mmo's? So anyone gonna stop by Sandy with a shiny pearl for me? lol

Oh boy, that's gonna be a doozy to recover given the current markets. And DRG have gotten a lot of changes. Some exclusive, and some that were across the board like the recent (and long overdue) 2 handed weapon change.

    Here's what's been changed.

    http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Dragoon

    - Call Wyvern changed
    - New ability "Spirit Link"
    - New 2HR "Spirit Surge"
    - Super Jump 3 min recast
    - Accuracy Bonus II added at level 50.
    - New category 2 merits Deep Breathing, Angon, Empathy and Stafe
    - Penta Thrust's TP mod now affects accuracy instead of damage.
    - Skewer's TP mod now affects critical hit rate.

And then there's the recent massive overhaul of two handed weapons. All two handed weapons now do increased damage against higher level enemies and enemies with high defense.

1 STR = 1 attack and 1 DEX = 1 accuracy now for 2 handers, and finally there is a new equipment type called "grips" that you equip in the sub slot for extra bonuses with 2 handed weapons.

Thanks for the reply and the link.

I just remember everyone being a complete elitest when I would look for a party because I didn't have snipers rings +1 lol.

I'm gonna try and see if Playonline can get my old account back. Probly not. But Like I said if I can find some cool people on any server. I'm more than willing to work my way back. I'm mostly self sufficent but I just like the company and community of a large friendly linkshell.

Edit: Whats the monthly now? just curious. I think it was 15$ per month when I left.

        Fees:
        http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/envi/charge.html

DEX ring is all the rage now, for two-handed weapon users.
        Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
        yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water.
