So I log on for my first time...

In almost a year.

Of course, curiousity gets a hold of me and first thing I do ... I zip straight to the Auction House (My friends were running Divine Might at the time so I had a couple of hours to kill time waiting for them)

To my ... to mixed emotions, I see the economy has been reset to levels I have not seen since Beta on Cactuar.

Prices on many things were unbelievable! Items that used to be unattainable to many just a scant 18 months ago are now affordable to the average player who can put in decent time to work for them.

But then the flip side to it ... all of my $$$$ items are now rock-bottom in value -_-;

The greatest irony here, though, is that on my server, you can NPC your dark crystals for more money than putting it on AH and many things that used to be "trash drops not even fit for vendor" are now the best way to make money in the game. >.>

Yeah, I find myself NPCing a lot of stuff that I never used to. If you have a stock of gil left from when you originally played, well I'm jealous of all the cool stuff you can now afford. I find it hard to even make 50k anymore with my old methods. One of the only things that hasn't deflated is teleports.

Yeah, the prices lately have been giving me serious flashbacks to when I first started playing.

Sometimes I think of my old character, with her 80m in gil (I liquidated her items before deleting her), and cry a little bit inside. If I could remember the POL ID, I would totally try and have her un-deleted. Alas.

Unfortunately (Slap me on the side of my head if you want) ... I spent all my gil. I bought many things before I quit. Penitent's Rope. Vermilllion Cloak. I traded in a Hauberk (from my DRK) and went and got a River Gaiter. I was protecting myself from ... further inflation. I gave away what little gil I had left (900K to be exact) to a couple of friends.

So ... in the end, I bet against S-E and lost. I got pwnd. Big time.

Oh well. At least one thing is that my friends are helping me. So that's cool
