  • Thinking of Returning... BUT(questions)

A bud and I are looking to trying out FF11 again. Back when, we had a War and Whm duo. It would take very long for us to lvl and it seemed like so much a grind. All we ever got to was lvl 15 before calling it quits.

I heard that the game has gone under major improvements? I heard that they boosted exp for small parties, lowered the difficulty of mobs and overall just smalled the grind. Is this true? I also heard they put in some repeatable solo quests that give exp?

If we where to return, how would we fair as a tank and healer duo? Would it at least go faster than before?(last time we played was.. oh, about a year ago or so.) Could we lvl just the 2 of us very fast? Would we NEED to be in full groups just to get anywhere? Cause if it still takes forever to get a lvl, then we don't want to bother coming back.

    Some insight would be helpful.

You could solo to 15 no problem. But experience gainning is still the same, if you quit then you will prolly quit again. But if you call an hour forever, you better just quit playing any MMORPG. Even back when the game began, a level usually take an hour from 1-25 and abit more from 26-30 assuming you got a party.

Nothing changed in leveling experience and it might even become harder now as some lower level monster start to heal more.

You would get more exp and level faster, but I don't know if it would be faster enough to satisfy you. If you thought it took "very long" to get a level at below level 15, then probably not - you were nowhere near the hard-to-get levels anyway. Unless you were doing something drastically wrong you should have been getting at least 1-2 levels a day at that level, even under the old rules.

        Re: Thinking of Returning... BUT(questions)

As a return player, i do not see any experience increase. Killing EM still give 100 xp, DC with high def give 72 and normal DC give 50. Nothing changes, what changed was the fact it become harder to fight when the monster now heal more oftens.

Even in group, dunes xp still the same, nothing beyond 200 xp+ killing puggy at level 19 group with 2 level gap still give 90-130 xp.

Beside the fact, they give a ring (and aniversary ring) that give +50% more xp with bonus limit 1000 (so 2000 xp ) usuable every 16 hour (not too sure, was it 24?) and corsair's xp buff.

Why people keep saying experience point increase? it is still the same unless you use xp ring.

EXP point maximum was increased, although that doesn't effect you until somewhere around lv55.

You mean decreased Feba? [EDIT: Do you mean exp from monster kills? If so, nevermind...]

All we ever got to was lvl 15 before calling it quits.
You barely played the game, so most fixes to the game's problems would go unnoticed to you. But, one thing you'll notice is the fix to Signet.

It now let's you rest with TP without losing it, it gives you a Clear Mind effect for healing HP(basically, makes you restore HP faster while resting), makes it easier to evade the attacks of EM or weaker monsters, and gives an exp bonus to parties smaller than 6. I don't know when you quit, but if it was a really long time ago, they also released Empress/Chariot Rings which give an exp bonus. Finally, if you start playing now(limited time), you'll be able to nab an Anniversary Ring, which is pretty much like a boosted Empress/Chariot Ring with limited use. It gives a total of 40k exp as bonus if used to it's fullest.
