Wanting to return...

OK, well its been prolly a good 1 yr or so since I played FFXI hardcore! I was in the Japanese beta long ago, and for a year in Japanese launch, then switched to English and played there a good year or so. Anyway, I lost my 1st character a lvl 60 Mithra Samurai / 37 Thief long ago and it can't be recovered...

I then started anew and got to lvl 60 White Mage / 37 Summoner....was playing on the Ifrit server with the LS SamuraiPizzaCats!

Anyway, I've contacted Squeenix about recovering that account and char, and we've done everything to find it to no avail, so that means I'll have to restart anew, which is fine!

Well getting to my point! I really want to restart playing FFXI again really bad. I've been playing WoW, EQ, EQ2, UO, etc Was even accepted into the Vanguard beta, but my current PC can't run the game, so can't play that anytime soon. FFXI is the best MMO out there IMO in terms of storyline, difficulty, class balances, etc....its wonderful and I want to re-experience all that!

However I wanna start with an LS of nice ppl to speak & play with. I remember trying to find a good LS of helpful ppl the first time I leveled WHM, and it was frustrating as everyone wanted me, but was rude and unhelpful!

Now I don't mean I want to be PL'd or helped more than the normal way of playing, but I want an LS of ppl willing to help with quests and do stuff together from time to time...sorta like schedule out what we do each day to help each other advance! My old Ifrit LS kinda did this and it was really fun helping each other when we could, and playing as much as possible as guild!

Any LS's out there that could meet my thoughts? I'd really love to play and be a wonderful WHM again as I was in the past!

i say go for it.if you really wanna comeback then start playing.although being away for so long might get things really different.like being in canada for so long and when you get back to hawaii you hate the temperature.hehehe!!!old friends may be gone but that doesnt mean that you should stop playing.

It's rather doubtful most LS's would plan out each and every single day. ^_^;

That said, LS full of people wanting to help each other do exist. The LS I'm in typically has several group activities every week, though it varies whether it's mission, BC/KSNM, or something else. We tend to schedule events half a week to two weeks in advance; spontaneous group activities often fail to take off because almost everyone is already doing something else. >_>;

Come back, talk to old friends, and see how things are; maybe one of them has an LS which fits your needs.

One of my social LSs on Ifrit, HydrasMemory, is ran by a guy that has spent most of the game helping out other people. One of the nicest guys I know. We don't really daily events, but more spontaneous events, with a few scheduled events from time to time.

Most times if we arn't in the middle of something important, we drop what we are doing, go do the mission or what not, and chit chat along the way. For a while I didn't think my buddies LS was going to make it, but quite recently it has grown considerably. I'm really impressed with it honestly.

We try to do various things for different levels (garrison, BCNMs, et cetera) and I would say the majority of the LS is in the middle level range (40-60). A few 75s and a few people that don't even have subjobs.

I think my endgame shell is unique from many out there in that they help people with various things as well that I don't think many do. While most require you to have sea or sky, mine actually helped me get it from the very first mission. Saved me hours of shouting for help or trying to form a static with people that would be available at the same times each day. It's almost a social in that we are all friendly with each other and can ask each other for various rank missions and what not. And they are whitemage friendly, instead of laughing at me for wanting various whm things (sea clubs, reverand mail, rostum pumps) they actually help me get them weather or not they would actually help the LS with something.

But more to your question, I think there are plenty of helpful LSs out there across all servers, and if you want to restart up on Ifrit just let me know and I'll get you a pass and give you a pearl to HydrasMemory if you desire (certainly not obligated). And I love helping people out when I can, be it LBs, missions, or quest. I myself am a map hog and currently trying to obtain them all, and love doing various missions when I don't have anything planned for the day.
