  • I'm returning on the 360 this christmas!

    I played FFXI for only like a year and i wasnt really that good or high level. I'm not really great at MMOs but i still love them, they just have so much more depth than single player games and such. I played WoW for a lil bit, but i definately hate how easy it is. Absolutely EVERYONE hits level cap in a matter of a few months, sometimes even weeks!
    Now, looking back on my time with FFXI, I realize how great it really was. The feeling you get when you're with a good party, just fighting all through the night, it's just so great. I definately know I'm going to return, these are just a few quick questions.

    1. Starting from scratch, is it very hard to find a party since nearly everybody is high level now? Is the noob population completely non-existant, or are there still people starting fresh every day?

    2. Is it still generally well populated? I mean, is windurst (or the other cities, just an example) now reduced to like having 9 or 10 people in it at a time, or is it still like a bustling city with hundreds of people?

    3. Now that i'm starting from scratch, what do you think is the best starting city? I was Windurst my first time around, and i'm kinda wondering if it would be worth it to try something different, because i liked Windurst pretty well.

    Thanks!

    1. Oh, there are new people starting everyday. One of my Linkshells just recruited about 10 newbs. If one did a search of Valkurm, you'd still find quite a few without subjobs. (mark of a true newbie)

    2. Like mentioned above, there are still plenty of new people around, plus there are always people going to starting cities for quests, crafting, etc.

    3. This is a question that is always asked. Who knows what the best starting city is. Locate yourself close to the crafting guild that you plan on frequenting. As for gil-making opportunities, Sandy is always good for Fire and Dark Crystals, Windy for Silk Thread, Bastok for bee chips.

    Or heck, go by what takes the least time to run around (Bastok), the shortest distance from Valkurm (Sandy), or maybe you enjoy boat rides (Windy).

    If you have no crafting plans and you don't care about running around, just start in the city that is home to your race. The city rings aren't anything to sneeze at.

    <Welcome back.>

        Kurb,

        I am normally a PC player but you can access your accounts from any of the methods, PS2, Xbox, and PC. Been having trouble with my computer so I have been using either Azergoth's computer or a friend's PS2 to play.

                You'd need a second account to play two characters at the same time.

                  LOL, the friend is staying with us so it helps. Her character's name is Julianna and she just got a pearl for NB from Tycho along with one of my mules.

                  And yes if you had 2 different active accounts. You can't have a mule and your main on at the same time.
