Hey all, I used to play on Shiva when FFXI was newer..I didn't play long;

was wanting to come back and play around again, just was wondering about a few things:

-how active is it still?

-servers stable?

-playonline giving you all enough end game content?

-lastly two-part class question:

-do you get to actively use skills/spells from your first and second job class?
-are you able to use advanced classes for both your 1st and 2nd job class?

FFXI is still active in general, as I am not on Shiva I can't provide a catagorical answer but I am willing to wager its still plenty busy.

-servers stable?

Yes.

-playonline giving you all enough end game content?

Depends on how involved and committed you are as a player. There is plenty of end game content out there its just spending the time and effort to unlock it all.

-lastly two-part class question:

Yes.

Yes.

BST/rng is possible, but incredibly silly... and all servers are pretty much the same

Why would that be silly?

I mean I didn't get that far into the game..so your words obviously over mine..

but a beast to send out and the whole time spamming the target with arrows, wheres the bad in that?

1) BST doesn't have any skill in archery or marksmanship so you'll be relying on a half-level skill from your subjob. yeah, good luck hitting anything
2) even if you do manage to hit, spamming arrows will create hate and pulling hate off your pet will get you killed
3) with no way to heal yourself, enjoy /healing for 10 minutes after every fight
