Possibly coming back.

I quit back in December and I have recently been thinking about coming back. Last time I played, I was on Shiva, but one reason I decided to quit was that it was very slow during the night hours(very few people in Dunes, etc.) I work nights and because of this, I stay up on my nights off and I would play for a few hours.

My main question is, is there a server that is at least somewhat active at night? I know I'll have to start over with a character and I don't want to have trouble finding a party while playing in Dunes, for example, at 3am EST.

I was considering Midgardsomr(sp?), Bahamut or Ragnarok because I've heard they are very active.

Can anyone recommend a good server?

Im from midgard. Mostly english speaking server. I see a number of gilsellers coming in though. THey're all using the random name generator. Lots of high level folk now. I do know a lot of the people from the US beta test are in this server.

Eeeek! Gilsellers? Hope they aren't a major problem. I've heard that they cause a good bit of drama with HNMs and such.

Is it a good server to play on at night? I was hoping to find a good active LS too. Hopefully somewhat active at night.

Its active all day. At night, a lot of people are japanese. They're mostly nice enough to take you in their party. I dont know anything about HNMs since Im not that high enough yet. I see the gilseller teams sometimes in Garliage waiting for Serket. I think its probably the same on every server.

Hmmm.

I was thinking of Odin also. It'll probably be a week or two before I come back, if I do, so I have a little time to think about it. It'll probably be between Midgard or Odin.

At those hours your best bet is to find a server with a fairly active Chinese/Hong Kong LS. I know Fenrir had a HK LS called Teamwork which had a pretty buoyant playerbase and they played during the hours you're likely to be on.

Kinda tough to choose. lol I guess I'll just pick and hope I get lucky. If Fenrir has a good player base, I might go for it. I don't know about joining a Chinese LS though since they'll probably be using the auto-translator a lot and I don't want to constantly have to use it.

Anybody have anymore info on some good servers? I'll be thankful for any info you can give.

Well, the HK players speak better English than most Western players to be fair. It was under British stewardship until recent times so English is a very commonly spoken language there.

Yeah. I remember hearing about the British rule over HK up until like '99 or so.

Does Fenrir have a good HK playerbase besides that one LS? I'm considering Fenrir now, but it's still up in the air on which server I'll pick.

Teamwork were the main HK LS when I played but I believe there were others.

Diabolos is pretty cool. I'm glad I actually transfered here from Caitsith. People are great, well, for the most part. There are bad apples in every tree, you know? But yeah... I'm glad I'm here now.

Well, today I went and got ToAU. I just installed it and now I'm getting the patches for the game.

Funny thing is, even though I cancelled my Content ID back in December, they never deleted it and I still have my character on Shiva. I'll stay here for a while since I had a 25 WAR/16 MNK and I'm Rank 3 in San D'oria.

Just gotta get my Kazham Keys so I can get on the Airship to Kazham and lvl some. If it ends up being like it was last time, I'll probably start over fresh on another server. Only if I could move my character from one server to another.

Well, welcome back bakira! I was going to comment earlier, but I've been busy with school and whatnot. I was going to recommend midgard... it has an amazing night time. It's very active. I've had only a few problems getting parties at night. You've read from above that it usually has japanese speaking pop. at night, but they're really nice and would take you in. Anywho, have a great time and welcome back! I plan on returning after college apps and such. Bah- they kill.
