Returning after a long time...

I've been reading around and finding out the things that have changed. I recently purchages the new expansion, and have decided to get back into FFXI--I miss spending long nights in a good group fighting until the early hours of the morning. I even miss the music!

However, the reason why I quit was: I played before CoP was released and had WHM up to around 23. I had to suspend my account for a few months because I simply didn't have the time to devote to FFXI. When I came back, however, my WHM was gone. I was beyond angry.

Haven't had the urge to play since then.

Now, however, my problem is getting through these early levels again.
I play on Fenrir now (used to be Seraph). I don't know anyone on this server and am pretty shy when it comes to asking around for help in-game. (I don't wanna come off as a noob or as begging.) I don't even know what job I want to do right now. I loved being a WHM, but I'm not too keen on repeating the boring levels again... besides, I am definitely looking towards being a NIN and possibly BLU post LV30. But I can not stomach being a WAR. I just can't bring myself to do it. lol

Anyways, just saying hello to everybody. I'm still so puzzled as to where to start. I'm used to San d'Oria, but I think I'm going to move to Windurst. I think it'd offer a fresh start... making these earlier levels less boring. Humm...

Also, does anyone know of a way for one to type in Japanese through an English client? I really don't like typing in romaji; and sometimes it's easier for me to type Japanese than use the auto-translator.

Unfortunately there is not a way to type with Japanese characters in the English Client without cheating slightly. Which is really unfortunate, but that's the system that's in place.

As for everything else, just take your time. Get used to the game again, and you'll figure out which jobs work best for you. If you want to level NIN at some point, WAR is kind of unavoidable, but for the most part, you have time to play around and figure out what works and what doesn't.^^

I saw two or three NIN/WHM in my day... it was interesting.
The only thing about this game that irks me is how some people can be in terms of others job choices. I'm happy as long as the party I'm in is active and knows what's going on. I want to have fun, first and foremost. But I know that a NIN/WHM wouldn't get many group invites. It's kinda sad imo.

I think I might want to find a LS within these developing levels.
I need that social atmosphere in order to enjoy my playtime. Otherwise... I get too bored too easily.
